Ok, i've acuired a Geo metro via a friend at a junk yard and i'm wanting to make a sleeper outof a Geo just because most people look at a geo and say... Geo Metro... what... but anyways I'm just looking for a parts list I have a rolling chassie sitting in my garage waiting. I also have a t70 t3/t4 i plan on useing with this swap so.:thumb:

So any advice like ecu stuff, tuneing, custom motor mounts or other things i'll need? will a 1g 5 speed fwd tranny work good for my plans?

not sure on waht kindof power i plan on putting down but definatly plan on lsd and the power to weight should be awsome.:thumb:

one more question were can i get a non restrictive exhaust that's not to big meaning Muffler and really quiet.?

thanks for any advice guys

I'll tell you the same thing I tell everybody else when they ask question about a swap like this. If you have to ask, you most likely don't have any chance at completing it.

I know without a doubt that I could do it, but there is no way in hell I would, there is way too much work involved. A car that is built like that is not going to handle any serious amount of power without a lot of chassis reinforcement.

There are other, much simpler, engine swaps for the Metro that would make it a pretty good sleeper. There are a few guys that live near me that have engine swaps in their Metro's, one of them is turbocharged. I'm not sure which engine they use, but it's a Toyota engine. They don't take a lot of power to be quick.

yea considering that the 93 Geo hatch i have only weights about 1650lbs i still want to use a 4g63t just because i love dsm's and want somthing to wow people i know it may takes months to compleat but it's my little secret project and nothing some sheets for stainless steel a plasma cutter and a tig welder won't solve to reinforce the fame some I'm serious about doing this swap i have little over 8k to spend right now I'll have more later i have the turbo and waiting to find a decent motor around my area so... what do you think!!!!:thumb:

I think it's another dead-end "project", that pops up here almost every day. I can tell you exactly what's going to happen. You will learn more stuff as you dig deeper into this, untill you know enough to not do it.
If TIG welder and stainless steel is not a problem, why are you asking where to get an exhaust (which is supposed to bolt up to a 4G63 and fit a GeoMetro by the way), instead of just making it?

i was leaning more twards a quiet performance muffler that's not restrictive and the Tig welder i guess yea i can make my own 3" exhaust i just wish i had a pipe bender LOL anyways my main use for the tig welder is if needed make custom motor mounting brackets reinforce the body and i guess now make my exhaust! and. what ever else i find a use for it:rocks: :thumb:

You don't need a pipe bender. Get several mandrel U-bends and some straight pipe and piece it together.

Ive seen a geo same body as yours with a Suzuki Swift 1.6 turbo drop in. He also dropped in the AWD drivetrain from the Suzuki. It was in Sport Compact Magazine about 3-4 years ago. It was bad ass, not to much power and still was running high 12's. You can find these Suzuki's everyonce in a while. I would try to find that motor becuase I think the guy said it was pretty much just a drop in.

P.S. Me and a buddy are starting a 89 Mits Mighty Max project. We dont know if we should try to drop a 4g63t or just use starquest parts to boost the N/T bottom end. We are probably going to run 6psi through the N/T pistons and swap head ecu turbo all from a starion. Its going to be bad ass when we are done.

Geo........3 cylinder carborated..............MUWAHAHAH!!!:D

I got one of those 3 cylinder Geo POS for a rental car once. As a matter of fact during that time I got a ticket doing 85 in a 65, I know it's hard to believe but there was a tail wind and I was going downhill.:sneaky:

Told the cop he should congratulate me instead of writing the ticket....needless to say he gave me a speeding ticket.

Nice idea, but as stated "If you have to ask, it's probably to much of a project for you."

I'm not 100% sure I could accomplish the job, but I'm 100% sure I wouldn't want to tackle a swap job such as this.

Maybe a 6-bolt swap at some point, but only the same family engine to car.

Man sorry to say but honestly how about save the money and build up your 4g63t
engine and drop it in a actual DSM
instead of taking the heart of a lion and putting it into a monkey. You also got to consider being that light isnt always good when making serious power because that chasis isnt going to handle abuse for very long, and It would be hard to find good stable motor mounts and syspension and braking upgrades for a geo
(and yes i said braking... Theres no point in going fast when you cant stop fast, ppl forget that part about modifying a car )... Let the geo be....

The engine people swap in them is a motor out of the Suzuki Swift, most people really underestimate these cars when you shouldnt. There are quite a few guys running 10's, 11's an there one auto car running low 13's. www.teamswift.net check it out.

yea that's the whole point too people will see i and be like... a Geo.... WTF then i whoop on them :beatentodeath: :tease:

think i should just use the money on my 92 talon? thing is it's like 100 lbs from 4thousand pounds!!! it's a tank what are some major weight reductions i can do with keeping full stock interior? lightweight wheels? throw some idea's at this tank? thanks

no its not unless you put a rhino in the trunk, the car should weigh a few hundred shy of 3000 lbs which isnt heavy when your racing cars with v6s and 8s because I guarantee they have you by at least 400 lbs, i mean yea its heavy if your coming from the honda realm, but also consider that hondas dont have awd, so their light ass bodies are going to sliding everywhere trying to find traction. Just lighten it up a little, and dont worry about the wt, worry about the power. Besides having wt is a good thing in high speed conditions, keeps you planted on the rode better when a lighter car gets blown around.

for instance i was with this guy in a 350z built up, and a turboed civic was racing him on the highway. The civic kept up to about 140 but he was drafting the z the whole time, soon as the guy driving the z changed lanes the civic actually began loosing speed from wind force because his car is so light and the z continued to accelerate, and the z weighed well into the 3thousand lbs... Well anyways point being just trying to not make you feel so bad about wt. build up your awd and go from there, if you have 400 + awhp who cares about a dsms stock wt. youll still be running low 12s or even lower perhaps.
