2G 4G63T head with 4G64 block

Hey! I have a ‘95 Eclipse GST and I’m looking into getting a 4g64 block. I found one but I want to make sure the year is correct before I buy it and I need help to reassure my decision.

The block is coming from a ‘94 Galant (4G64) and I will be putting on my 4g63t head, I know the pistons will be different and there are some things that will need to be adjusted as well. Just making sure the years will correlate and workout before I buy it.

In 94 the Galant started using the 2g style mounting points and such (a year before the dsm’s did), from 94 to 98 the 4g64 block found in the Galant is essentially the same as what one would find in a 96-99 Eclipse Spyder GS so yes you could build off that and utilize it in a 2g GST chassis if desired. Earlier 4g64’s can be utilized as well but pre 94 they’d have the 1g style mounting points, essentially no different than using a 6 bolt or 1g 7 bolt in a 2g chassis but being the block in question is from a 94 Galant that doesn’t apply here. Now in 99 the Galant started using the opposite oriented 4g64 like one would find in a 3g Eclipse or Dodge Stratus coupe (this layout appeared a year earlier in the Galant the same way the 2g style mounting appeared in 94 in the Galant), that wouldn’t do you any good, but being from a 94 Galant consider it the same as using a 96-99 Spyder 4g64 block.

Question, if I have a 99 Eclipse with the 4g64 2.4 SOHC and I want to put a turbo head on it would I be able to take the 1g DOHC head and bolt it on there directly or will there be any compatibility at all?
