i got my blown motor out 1991 eclipse and i got 1000 dollars to put in to it i would like to build it to get a decent amount more power and still be pretty reliable and ideas suggestions

Fixed it for ya. ;)

I've never had an issue with composite before. I have one on my o-ring'd engine as well. These gaskets just don't get the credit that they used to.
They could be ok, but I never even gave them a chance. I heard other DSMers had problems when pushing the 400 mark, so I just scrubbed them altogether. I learn from others mistakes not just my own.

**Edit**

I finished the list. Total you come to about $1200 with all the stuff. You can try to talk to Extreme PSI as the are VERY helpful and negotiate to help you out with prices alot of times. Keep in mind this only includes parts, NOT labor or machining to get the parts installed correctly to specs. Have fun with it.

the cyclinder walls are all in pretty good shape. no deep scraches. my goals are do make a pretty quick street car. i wanta be able to take it to the drag strip on weekends and during the week drive it on the road and still be able to whoop on some v8 all week long

So, lets say, less than 400 WHP. You can use you stock rods and stock head and cams. You could do a 1G rod/2G piston combo. Replace bearings, rings, oil pump, water pump, and timing components. As long as the cylinder walls aren't badly damaged or out of round, you can simply have them honed. Also have the block decked. If you shop around, you might be able to do all of this for $1000. Chances are it will still run a few hundred more though.

^ agreed.. Unless it is coming out of a running car and you can do all the test for a good strong engine ...Ie compression test, leakdown, etc.

You got to make your plan. Are you shooting for 300hp street car or a 700hp track car? NO PLAN=DSM that runs like $%IT, and an empty wallet. Do it once and do it right.

i would like around 300 h/p

what about the slowboyracing oem 2g pistons with rings for 200 is that a lagit deal u think and than just have my rods machined or will 2g rods fit my 6-bolt crank

also with that head gasket do i have to get my head milled a bit ive heard like .002 needs to be shaved off

you forgot...

valve stem seals. ~$30.

and i would just buy a new oil pump. no point in doing all this work, and possibly having to replace it in the near future.
