i have a basically stock 95 eclipse gst.. i have a aftermarket bov turbo timer and intake system on it thats the only add on parts. after driving if i need to come to a quick stop the car falls down to about 200 rpms and barely makes it back to normal rpms and sometimes will just shut off. even if i rev the enigne to like 2500 rpm and let off the gas 90% of the time the car dies and doesnt go back to normal idle level...i have replaced fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, idle air control valve and egr valve..im all out of ideas please help guys!! i cant find any vacuum leaks i just rebuild the engine back for factory about 12k miles ago and replaced almost all hoses this problem is REALLLLLYYYY annoying LOL

im not exactally sure about the bov being recirculating or now...just a big chrome bov looks like a horn LOL...how would i make it recirculate??? this problem is realllllly pissing me off...THANKS FOR THE HELP SO FAR!!!!

i can upload a pic of the BOV setup if that would help??

I dunno how many dsms I've seen run perfectly fine without recirculating the BOV, and never seen one that runs this bad without it recirculated.

5$ says it doesn't fix it.

this pic IS what you want!!

you may have to reset your ISC and ground the stepper motor then reset your idle.I had to do that to get rid of that problem for me. ( i used evoscan to do that)

This right now does not matter.^ you need to recirculate your bov. then your problem will be solved.

well i dont like what tsi_93 says because the car was my dads, purchased about over 8 years ago and had the same bov on it since day one.never really had any problems with idling like im having. we put the intake on the car about 2 years after owning it. dad drove it for another 2-3 years and started having the problem ###### about 2 and a half years after the intake was installed..the water pump sprung a nasty leak so my dad let the car sit and then finally gave it to me..i put about 1500$ in rebuilding the top end and replacing lots of parts and almost every gasket along the way there in no reason i should be having these problems thats why i know its something reallllllly simple or stupid.. i cant find a vacuum leak sooooo now im LOST!! LOL but the BOV has a hose that goes to the valve cover and then another hose one it but at the other end of the hose it is caped off???? whats that about??

DO WE NEED PICS??? damnit left my phone at work cant post pics till tomorrow :(

the non recirculated bov, on Some bov's act as a vacuum leak. This is because they will be a vacuum leak at idle because the bov does not fully close when at idle. .There are few bov's that fully close at idle when theyre designed for recirculated motors. My engine is not effected by not recirculating at idle. but it also is not good at speed. I have been in many dsm cars that could not idle because the owner was venting to air.

That bov is NOT recirculated if its capped and is stock. the hose your talking about is the vacuum, thats fine. That is defiantly, 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000% your issue.if what your saying is true.

make it a couple beers and you got a deal!

ok well im guessing my bov in a non recirculating bov... the turbo intake has the hose with the blocked off piece in it and the bov is hooked into the intake and then another hose going into the throttle body...this has ran fine for years..what could be wrong i have replaced every sensor and fuel things that could be related

i worded that wrong with the hoses LOL!! maybe the springs are just going bad in the bov and not closing strong when i let off gas pedal??? could i rev the engine then take a screw driver and force the valve closed before the engine gets to about 2k rpm??

Recirculate the bov to the intake preturbo. Until you do this and verify that this is not the issue, we cant really help you, as the symptoms you describe sound exactly like what most every stock turbo dsm would do without it recirculated

this will make it easier...this is my bov!

Nope cant recirculate that one. See if you can find a factory 2g bov and put it on recirculated just for shits and giggles. $5 says it DOES fix it. Oh and while youre at it go ahead and change your plugs if you havent done so recently. They could be fouled out from running so fat at idle

ok 2 tings. and no offense meant. Just follow with me. 1 thats an ebay bov. it WILL leak at idle causing a vacuum leak. 2. you are now not recirculated. That tube you held in your hand needs to connect to the "horn" of the bov. Which as your about to say is not possible. You will have two options in this case. Buy a legit 200+$ bov so you can vent without recirculating. or get a stock bov and hook it back up correctly. im sure that thing is pretty loud and may sound cool, but its costting you, your idle.
