Noobie to 4g63 here.
Long story short, bought a barn find tsi awd. Installed new clutch and transfer case and started driving. Few hundred miles down the road motor mount breaks and engine drops, no biggy right. So while I'm in there I do both timing belts and replace the mount and now she wont start.
Simple: Timing/fuel/spark testing. So I started by double checking my timing, she is all good, couldn't figure out how to check fuel pres. so I skipped to spark. I have no spark so I did some research got pin outs on the CAS and ECM. I have got my 12V supply to the CAS and good ground but my signal is at 9V!? Very strange seeing as it should be a 5V ref. Unplugged the ecm and ohmed my wires for any shorts to power and found none. So I'm thinking my ecm is internally shorted. But I'm no dsm god by any means, so any input before I go on the hunt for a new ecm would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.
