Ok I got a lot of feed back on idea of turboing my 91 automatic Eclipse GS 2.0L non turbo (4G63)
got a lot of concerns on the trans not being strng enough and I have concerns on fuel and electronic mods and now i am thinking of just do a bunch of bolts to bring up the horse power no internals replaced.

So any idea on what type of bolt ons I should look into to bring the performance up with out turbo and new internals
plus this might be alot cheaper than going as far as turboing it

Intake, headers,exhaust, cams.
Only so far a non turbo car will go ya know, unless youre willing to put large sum of money into it
Cams arent too hard to install if you know how to do your own timing I would assume.

Going quick and fast in a N/A engine is a lot harder and expensive than building a simple street turbo car. Modified engine internals are the "secret" in 300-350 4cyl N/A engines and thats when N/A builds get costly. Simple bolt-on wont cut it especially in a Eclipse heavy chassis. The Eclipse GS 5-speed 2,678 0lbs and OEM 9.0:1 compression ratio SUCKS for a N/A build project. All-motor performance engines use higher compression ratio. Curb weight and compression ratio are vital in N/A machines.

Im actually building a all-motor 12/13sec Mitsubishi Mirage with a MIVEC engine (ENGINE CODE WILL REMAIN SECRET FOR NOW), not spend more than 5k, and start having a little street/track fun while working in my 2G 4G63 RWD conversion. . Thats why I picked a MIVEC 10:5:1 compression ratio DOHC 4cyl engine swap in a 2,260lbs 2dr Mirage car. I just bought the engine, currently looking for a 5th gen Mirage 2door donor car, make the swap, perform common bolt-ons, CNC cyl head port & polish, weight diet, drag radials.

I don't know about all-motor Eclipse, but there are a few 11sec all-motor Mirage in PR...

I think what gabytech is trying to tell you is to strap a turbo to that thing ASAP. Skip the bolt ons, go for the boost. Also, buy a turbo bottom end and a turbo transmission and pop that NT engine with too much boost. With enough octane, fuel and proper spark tuning, a 4g63t from the junkyard will give you a lot of bang for little $. There are currently 3 4g63t short blocks in the junkyard near me. There's probably some in the yard near you too.

Imo I would only put money into maintanance for that car the bolt on would be a waste of money you can spend on something else. Just restore it keep it clean and stock it will run great.
