I own a 97' Talon ESI and love the hell out of it.
I got the Talon because i consider it "rare", and like the looks over the Eclipse.

Before the question pops why i got the esi, its the lame excuse of money, i have a small job, and am full time in college atm.

Iv searched the forums for the past few hours and cant seem to find anyone talking about swapping a 420a for a 4G63 turbo. (maybe im just blind)

After all of my reading on the forums i see the much higher potential, and cost efficiency of the 4G63, and want to keep my current car. Would say the gear shift and everything fit close to as it did with the 420a?

After all of my searching I of course see that it would be tough because of wiring, but would i have to do any extra mount modifications? Of all of the pics i have seen the two motors look like they are reversed when sitting in the car. Would i possibly have to relocate anything, like the battery?

Oh, and yes i know ill have traction problems with a turbo FWD setup.(if i was poor at launching)
As you can see its in excellent condition besides being in need of a bath.
Any links or help would be very much appreciated.

Paid 2,500
has 120k miles but the person i had bought it from performed all routine maintenance, and has all receipts, the car was babied.

Well the engine swap is dang near impossible without about 1 million dollars. The transmission is on the opposite side of the cars, so major modification would be necessary. Sorry, a little more searching and you would have found this answer in about 50 other threads.

Unless you are rich. It can't be done and is not worth it. You want more power? Then upgrade your ESI. If you are on a tight budget (and it sounds like you are) then just do the basic power mods. If you manage to save up some green then buy a turbo kit. OR just sell the ESI and get a TSI... it's what I did.

But before you do ANYTHING to your car to add power make sure all the basic maintenance is done. You don't want to blow up that engine (I know it happened to me ... threw a rod).

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Because we KILL those pointless threads as soon as we find them.

It can be done. You could also build your very own Space Shuttle. For less money, and quicker.
