I searched and am getting different answers, and would like someone who has experience with these 1.6L to give me a straight answer or show me the right direction.

This guy offered to sell me his engine, and come to find out it is a 1.6L, hes trying to tell me that only difference is the Rods, and Pistons but I am not buying that at all.

It is however Rebuilt 0 miles.
So I was hoping the block and head would be the same for resale, But I do not want to sell it as a 4g63 block and have someone get the wrong block etc.

So if you guys could help me out with the differences between the 2 engines.
I would most appreciate it.

Yes it's all different. The 4g63 has 85mm bore and 88mm stroke the 4g61 has a 82.3mm bore and 75mm stroke. By looking at the 61 block there is no way of making it into a 63 engine.

Well it is backwards bore 82.3 stroke is 75.

I am looking for a 4g61 engine, if you decide you can not use it I would be interested.
 
The block is different because the deck height is shorter on the 4g61. This affects the length of the timing belt, the height of the motor mount coming off the power steering pump area, and the intake manifold bracket.

Yes the long block 61 will bolt into a talon but if you want to make a shortblock work with 63 head/parts (at least) the things above will have to be changed.
