That FMIC can be had off ebay for around 200. its the same one I run and since i got one, each of my freinds with dsm's have gotten them.

you can grab 2.5" piping from www.magnumforce.com. get yourself.......

(3 qty) 2.5" U Bends in 6" radius, Mild Steel
(1qty) 2.5" straight pipe, 5 feet.

then mock up the fmic and piping. youll have to do a few cuts, so hopefully you have a table vice and a hacksaw or sawzall. then mark where your pipes need to be welded, and have either a buddy or muffler shop weld them up and add beads at the end. shouldnt cost more than 40 bucks for welds, free if you or a buddy can do it. you wil need to go to home depot and get some metal hanging strips(the ones with the holes in them, bout a inch wide) and some screws and hang the fmic that way. theyre easy to bend and twist to get to work for you. oh and btw you might want to paint or powdercoat the piping after its welded and cut. i havent and mine is starting to rust, its been 6 months.

heres my setup. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/509528/7

total for my fmic setup was something around 320 if i remember. i laugh at those spending 1000+ on one, just for a name.
I have been looking at that XOXO FMIC for a while noe contemplating whether I should buy it. I wanted a FMIC that would retain my fog lights and this seems to be the perfect one. I was also concerned about cutting up my bumper support but I see it was not much of a cut, but more of a trim from your pics. What I want to know is how does it run? Do you feel its 100% better than the stock side mount? I'm running the Evo 316G at17-18psi daily and have timing up to 20 degrees with the smic but was looking to maybe hit 19-20. Maybe even keep my setting but maybe take out a bit of fuel. Currently I have to dump oodles of fuel to keep from detonating due to my smic not keeping up.
Also how is your coolant temps? are they still the same or higher? I'm really leaning towards this FMIC so your input would be greatly appreciated.
And to those running the same FMIC, please add your comments to my questions as well. It looks like a good fmic but would like to hear first hand experience.

So where's the best place to get the aluminum bends? Is it harder (cost more) to weld aluminum pipes than steel ones?

i would also like to know how is the XOXO front mount as far as coolant temps...? Is there sufficient flow to the radiator still? Thanks

I actually bought the XO2 Racing intercooler (XOXO). So far All I can say is WOW. Great customer service. They answered all my emails the week before when I was just trying to decide if I was going to get theirs. They ship on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I got my intercooler on Friday. One Day!!!! I bought it Wednesday night. The one I got was the 23 x 12 x 3. It was packaged nicely and it was in perfect condition. Brand NEW! Welds are beautiful.
With this unit I should be able to keep my fog lights (Something I really want) Well see how it does in a couple of weeks (Hopefully next week) when I get all my parts together for my custom install kit.

^^that FMIC looks like the 18x12x3 they have. measure the core size, not the overall length. one of my buddies ordered the 24x12x3 and got thw 18x12x3 and it looked like crap inside a 2gB bumper, cause there was the endtanks, piping and huge gaps between the fmic and the sides of the bumper mouth, looked horrible. but they have great customer service, they sent out the right one overnight, and said to keep the other one just cause of their mistake. he sold it to some honduh kid for 300 bucks.

but then again if i remember youre using a 2gB talon front. itll look bucktoothed no matter what(unless you use really long short fmic).

The measurement I gave was the end to end and you are right... its the 18" core. Thats the one I wanted. I chose this one on purpose. I have an Eagle Talon, not an Eclipse so the look is different. I also chose this size due to the fact that I want to retain my factory fog lamps. (I didn't pay all that money buying new Front bumper, brackets and fogs, along with modifying the connector plugs on the 98 fogs to fit my 95's for nothing) The maximum size anyone with an Eagle Talon can fit for a FMIC while retaining the fogs is 24". This measurement "HAS" to include the end tanks!!! So End to end has to be 24". The setup on the Eclipses are different, not to mention the 2Gb Talons has way larger Factory fog lamp design than Eclipses. I have searched long and hard for a size similar to this one and this was as close as I got for the price paid without paying for custom made. I love the fogs and I have my car modified to show only the fogs without the headlights on at the first turn of the switch and normal lights on the second turn, not to mention that I can also normally turn off the fogs with the button. I absolutely will not give up the fogs and even less go with aftermarket fogs. I have seen other Talons (2Gb) with similar setups sizes for FMIC and it looks good. Below is one example that I found real quick. The FMIC is only 18" wide as the end tanks are top and bottom. I bought the FMIC for more of a function than a cometic appeal.... The Talon :talon: already looks good :D
