1G FMIC kit

I have been looking on Ebay and all over for an intercooler kit for my 1G, has anyone used this one before? Seems like a good buy and at good price too, let me know what you all think.

Looks a bit small and a bit pricey. The crappy digi pics scare me as well. Why not go with someone safe like Slowboy or Dejon? A complete kit shipped from Slowboy is under $750, this guy is charging about $650 after shipping and all. I'd spend the extra 100 for peace of mind. Additionally, what if something is wrong or goes wrong, good luck getting help/parts from an Ebay vendor.

Actually, I'd just go with Extreme Intercoolers. Still considering doing so myself, once I work enough slack into my budget to allow for it. Probably going for the 7" kit myself, so I can keep the crashbar, and don't have TOO much volume to fill with my big 16.

Have you bought a product from this vendor??? Didn't think so. He has high quality products and is good at what he does. I bought a custom made 02 eliminator full exhaust from him for my 1g and it was of high quality, mandrel bent. He knows his dsms and I cant see him making a bad product. He was kind and put out a great product, which to me is very important. It makes me mad when people say stuff like this just because its not "slowboy". So until you have had experiance w/ a company, don't talk about how you will get bad help/ or parts. Anyways, he has good products bottom line.

I got a slowboy frontmount for my 1g. It is a beautiful piece. I would recommend the street kit if you don't want to hack your bumper support. I waited to buy the brand name and it was totally worth it. The welds are great ,the stainless is well done, and with slowboy's J pipe my 16g fit perfect perfect. Spend the money and invest in QUALITY.

Settle down. I didn't say this guy made bad parts, or was a bad vendor. All I'm saying is there are a only a few reasons people sell stuff on Ebay:

A - the stuff is crap
B - they are out to scam people
C - they are somehow able to sell at a super discount

Since this setup wasn't all that "super discounted", I was simply saying why take the chance that it could be A or B? How many people have gotten screwed on Ebay? 10% How many people have gotten screwed from a vendor linked to Tuners? 2%

If $100 is worth the risk go for it. If you are backing this guy up I'd be much more likely to buy from him, possibly worth the 100 bones savings. Then again you are backing up his exhaust parts so the quality and fitment of the IC kit is still up in the air...

Good discussion, and when you are looking for discounted dealers, that are reliable, you'll find some at 50% the cost of the big vendors.

Some people also are trying to expand there bussiness. I used to live in Madison, Wisc. and this guy is from milwaukee and Ive seen his shop and his parts. I know a few people from wisc that run his fmic and its a quality piece, Im speaking from EXPERIANCE. Its just as good as any other kit. I'm just trying to help a fellow dsmer out because thats what its all about.

Good points. Get some of of your buddies from Wi. on here to vouch for the product quality and fit and this vendor may have a sale to the OP. I still wouldn't be too convinced with only one person speaking up, if I was the prospective buyer.

Well said! -I couldn't agree more... I myself ended up going with their "ebay special" 6.5" Bar & plate FMIC that is almost identical to that of the 7" Tube & fin style linked to above.

Installation was straight forward and I was able to keep the inner bumper. I ended up having a fitment issue with the 1G BOV's flange that I brought to ETS's attention... They OVERNIGHTED my a replacement pipe with the BOV flange relocated. -Would have worked out fine, except it had a small leak in the BOV's flange's weld. Called 'em back... They OVERNIGHTED me a third pipe that was perfect. IMO, you can't get better service than that. -And if it makes a difference, it was an ebay deal (notice that you won't find the 6.5" bar & plate FMIC on their website... They might still be available on ebay though).

Mine was also a complete kit (Powder coated pipes, unions, T-clamps, installation hardware, and FMIC).

Cool, thanks for the link. Looks like a good kit, sounds like thier very customer service oriented too. I'll end up buying this kit.
