im about to start my 6bolt build/swap and wanted to know what cluctch you guys would run with my setup. built internals pushing an AGP RS60 probably. i was thinkin an act 2600 would do, but if anyone has other suggestions please let me know!!! also i am probably going to get an act flywheel if that influences any of your decisions. thanks for your time guys

I have a 2900 in my daily driver and it's far easier than what people speculate it as.

yea im AWD, and also with increased horsepower torque is also going to be increased

I run an act 2900 6 puck on my car, and its not bad at all......people make it seem a lot worse than it actually is. And I dont baby my car at all, and it has yet to slip.....even after a couple dozen 7000rpm launches making 727hp. :thumb:

ps.....my car is for sale....9,000 and its urs......needs new valves...regrind on the cams, new crank pulley, and belts....word :shhh:

I don't think that you should really decide on a clutch by the amount of pressure the pedal has. Regardless, you will still get used to it eventually. Remember, though, the harder the pressure plate is, the higher the chance you will break your clutch fork so think about it. The 2600 is rated at 400+ ft/lbs of torque. I'm looking at the 2600 and I am eventually trying for about the same goal as you.

I have driven, ridden in and, helped replace enough 3/4/6 puck clutches to safely say that if your car is going to be a everyday driver, sprung or not those things blow :thumbdown for any type of street car. I have a act2600 and it seems to work great. Granted I'm only puting down 300 or so whp so I should probably shut up, but anyways, I have freinds that are making a ton more power than that and are getting good reliability and performance out of the same clutch.

Have you looked at your friction surface lately. Those things are a frickin zoo. They wear out fast, chatter like a muther and barely outperform a normal street disc for their short lived life. Granted they have their place, ON THE RACE TRACK. If your cool with swapping clutches/friction surfaces every 7-10k be my guest. I'd rather save my time and "pair" for my girlfriend.

So if act 2600 and other like it are basically good for drag,What is good for street cars?i will be pushing 450 to the wheeels and dont want to go with act.Can anyone recommend something else other than 3/4/6 puck?

Why not I was changing the ACT 2600 w street disc that often.

BTW my launches are WAY better than I EVER had with ACT.

An ACT 2600 will do you fine. I have one in my GS-t and im making over 400 whp. Its never slipped, even when I use NLTS with anti lag and do burn outs with drag radials.

Well, if I had the money right now, I'd trade in my ACT for an EXEDY double plate carbon clutch!! I want one sooo bad but outa money :(

2600 has gone low 10's and held way more than 450whp.

This may be true. However, I'm sure the car was far from full weight, which makes a big difference. Also, how long did it last?
