ok, i have a 95 eclipse gs 5 speed with 80k on it. this car was originally automatic and i changed it to stick. everything works fine but the tranny makes a knocking noise and i have no idea what is causing it. when i put the tranny on i installed a stage 3 six puck ceramic clutch along with a new throughout bearing. i made sure the bering was clipped onto the throughout fork also. when i start up the car it makes the noise at idle everytime but when i step on the clutch the noise goes away. another thing i noticed is that if i step on the clutch and release the pedal very slowly the noise quiets down considerably but if i was to release it uickly it comes back loud. However, like i said this car was converted from auto to stick and the car i got this tranny from ran great and there was never any noise comeing from the tranny before the swap was done so i dunno if it has something to do with the fluid or maby moisture in the tranny. Can anyone please help me?

i have a 95 when i bought it it did not have a tranny so i bought one and in less than 5k it broke. it made the same noise yours did how i found out the exact problem was by taking it to a mechanic and letting him here the noise. they could tell you what part is your concern. i dont remeber exactly what it was i think the input or output shaft had play. hope this helps

mine makes noise as well it dose it real bad when u first start it and when its cold but after u drive it it gose away somewhat and i just had a clutch put in when it started doing this
