420A head rebuild

Hey guys, I just came across a 1998 Eclipse N\T GS and Ive started removing the motor and broke down the 420A head. After removing the stock cams i noticed a few scratches on the cam bearings, nothing deep and on only one bearing on the intake and one on the exhaust! Can this be fixed or is the head shot??? Thanks for any imput on this !! This is my first build!

The cam journals on the head are non-serviceable. If you can feel the scratches using your fingernail, then they're probably too deep. There may be a machinist or two out there willing to try to repair them, but it would likely cost far more than just buying a new head.

Thanks for the imput,looks like ill be looking for a new head! Sometime this week i will have the bottom half out and see what it looks like. This will be a big challenge for me since ive never built a motor. But what better car to start with since i love these rides!!
