420a Eclipse, Wont crank or start.

Hi, I have a 1995 420a Eclipse. Car has been running pretty good.

Today I pulled up to a stop sign, Put it in first , let the clutch out, started to pull away, and then the car jumped forward and just died. Wont CRANK wont START. Nothing.

Timing belt is good, and A ok, Starter was replaced just 2 weeks ago.

I got 3 DSm's down right now, and me and my gf got nothing to drive .

Anybody have a experience like this.

If I put the car in 1st and let it roll, the cams turn.

I know not one thing about 420's...

Update, Ign. Fuse keeps blowing, but Seems to be traced to the little connecter to the starter??? I wiggled it and the car started right up,

Is the connector loose or tight? I assume it is loose if you were able to wiggle it. Make sure it has good connection. I would fix this asap so you don't continue having these problems.

i know its different motors (from the 4g63) but i was having troubles with the cable connected to the started.. tried tightening it down because it seemed a little loose. I ended up replacing the whole wire and was good to go. hopefully everything turns out for ya..
i like the fact that you have 3 dsms but none running... get them all going haha

I think you have already found your issue, when it comes loose it probably shorts or something. Fix/replace as needed and go from there.

As for the other 2. Rod knock, Waiting for tensioner on built engine.

They will be moving soon enough and O man.

It's mostly because my next door neighbor rides his motocycle around like its something else *old ugly thing*. My one talons *1g* been under a tarp for a year with my built engine in the basement, waiting to be dropped in.

My nice looking eclipse 1g rod knocked 5th day of ownership, but I let that turbo spool evertime I passed his house . Can't wait to be doing it again. Especially when his daughters out .

The 2g eclipse is just horrible....I let the gf drive that 420gay.
