My 1996 eclipse 420A is burning oil… big surprise. It’s got 126,000 miles I change the oil every 3000 miles. I don’t really have the money to pull the head, or do a rebuild. I’ve read some people use rotell while others are using 15w-50. I know thicker oils are just a band aid for burning oil but as I said I can’t afford a rebuild. I’ve seen the arguing between 4-5 different oils. I live in Oklahoma and I’m okay with running different oils in summer and winter. Oklahoma gets really hot in summer Around 90°-100° at the hottest and stays around 10°- 40° in the winter. What oils do you guys recommend for the band aid. I haven’t done compression test or leak down test. When it’s running there’s no blue smoke but it does smell (also catless)
