Is it just me or does this car look like its from up north? The engine Looks washed out and is that rust infront of it by the dipstick?

Car supposedly only has 35k miles on it!

What do you think? Oh 1 other thing... The car has a Hitch on it!?!?! WTF?! You think 35k miles of pulling something is enough to have a serious effect or not? Its @ a dealership now so I cant ask the orig owner what they pulled.....

I just think it looks heavily oxidized and I question if its possibly a Flood victim car. The CarFax/Autocheck says its not a flood victim, only a rear impact crash in the past which has nothing to do with whats under the hood, the car is fixed now. Also Says the car has never been registered up north. Its my First DSM so im not familiar enough with them to say thats normal or not.... Just look for a few opinions before I got check this car out n possibly purchase.

Thanks.

When You Look At The Rear With A Flashlight, Look For Newer Metals Underneath. Meaning What They Replaced Would Obviously Be In Newer Condition Look For Tags On Metal Parts And Bumper. Look For Paint Stress Marks And Cracks For See How Well They Fixed And Painted It. Check Alignmnet When Driving. If Hit Hard Enough And Not Fixed Right Alignment Will Be F###ed.

If theres one thing I love about alaska and Fairbanks in particular...things just don't rust as easy as it seems things do in the Northern US....especially closer to the east coast side...the amount of salt and winter stuff they use on the roads is crazy!!!! I saw 3 year old truck that literally looked like it was outside upside down with an acid drip on it! But the engine bay looks really nice and very neat. I wish even my car looked like that after my rebuild haha.

It looks good to me. I bought my car in north Florida but the car was originally from Wisconsin. The best way to look for body damage is to get under the car and look where the rear bumper brackets are.

Also, I'll be in Orlando this Saturday and Sunday. If you want to go look at the car with me - PM me.

That car looks fine my car has surface rust and I live in FL.

All it take is for heat to make a surface peel away and rust will form a few hours later.

Florida does have high humidity. In comparison to my DSM who's always been in the north, my car is in better shape. When I removed the engine bracket, it's still rust free. No strut tower rust either. (knocks on wood)

I ended up not buying this vehicle. I didn't even go Look AT IT!!! Why? Well I woke up sunday morning kind of excited call the place to make sure they have it (because I live in Orlando, its in Tampa area) ... and They arn't open.. So I go to the website.. Well They arnt open on Sundays!!

Soooooooo I keep researching on the net.... Stumble into SRT-4s and what do you know... Tuesday I end up Buying a Black 2004 SRT-4 w/ only 41k miles 1 Owner, Looks to be in Great Condition.

Soooooooooooo here is the link to it on the Dealers Website. For the 99 Eclipse Spyder GS-T
http://www.auction123.com/showroom/...XE053497.html?showroom_dealer=1130&wait=false

I found it either on autotrader or cars.com I think it has been in a Rear Impact Collision(Got Rearended) sOoooooooo Its probably still up for grabs if anyone wants to take a look @ it. Extremely Low mileage. Only thing I really didn't like was the Tan top. + I kind of wanted a Red one.

Here is a Pic of my new baby though......(even if its not a DSM)
Thanks for the replies though.

ha all you really need for that is a new wastegate(stock one doesnt hold to much psi to my knowledge), new fmic, boost cont, exhaust and intake and you're good. My friend has those mods on his 04 and the thing is fast.

Heh, here is my buddies SRT-4. Currently at around 325-350fwhp (I still get him off the line though, :sneaky:, :thumb: AWD. The red eclipse is a 97 GS-T, one of my best friends. 475fwhp stock internals (not BS on that). You will enjoy it a lot though. Def get exhaust first. They sound like V8's and pop so god damn loud it makes me laugh its so rediculous. And yes his license plate indeed says BST-IT :)notgood:)
