2G 340mm 3000GT/Genesis RTM brake upgrade wheel clearance?

I have a feeler out to RTM as well, but figured it'd be good to discuss on here in case anyone has experience. Or at least to document their response for anyone else searching in the future.

Planning to run the larger spacing 2G VR4 calipers with 340mm rotors. Then again, may not do it if I have to buy wheels beyond what I have.

Has anyone run the 340mm brake upgrade here:

What wheels did you go with? I have on hand some 2G 3kgt vr4 17" wheels and also Cobra wheels (17x8 and 17x9 iirc). Not sure if either would clear, but I'd do whatever works, within reason (i.e. no huge spacers). Staggered won't matter with GST, it may just look out of place with Mustang wheels. They're like the flat 5 spoke type though.

Also have some cheap 18x8" wheels that look like they came from Amazon. These required awful spacers on one of my VR4's (I didn't do it), so they'd likely require spacers to clear the same calipers for 2G DSM. Maybe I'd get lucky but probably not.

I was planning on running the 2gVR4 + Cobra 330mm rotors on my 2g GS-T. The wheels I have are ADR 17x7 with +40 offset. The spokes arch outward a good bit, so I figured I was safe.

Nope. With the caliper shimmed to properly center it on the Cobra rotor, it BARELY fits (2-3mm away from caliper) with a 12mm spacer.

Since they CLAIM the Genesis 340mm rotor setup puts the caliper 12mm further back, I'm planning to upgrade to that and any spacing (if needed) will be minimal. The added bonus of not needing extended studs seems to be a good one.

I still need to check if I have enough circumferential room for the caliper to still fit within the wheel, since it will be spaced (presumably) 5mm further away from the hub. Most likely I'll be ok.

Definitely upgrade to 3g BMC and Booster. The booster is a challenge to install due to it's larger outer dimensions, and you need to do some bending of one of the lines for the MC. I used inverted flare to double flare adapters for the lines. After using these on my 2g GSX with CTSV Brembos + Cobra 330mm in the front and Evo8 Brembos + Rotors in the rear...the car slows massively with responsive pedal feel.
 
Did you end up going with the VR4/genesis rotor package? Any figment issues. I got Aodhan ah07’s in 18x8 +35 and they don’t clear my new CTSv setup so I’m looking for other brake options for my wheel setup. I love these wheels and would prefer to keep them.
 
I'm in the same boat trying to figure out a wheel to clear. The 17s I have now won't work because the wheel weights end up rubbing. Looking into an 18x9 but seems wheel design is very important besides the offset.
