I just got an evo 8 fuel pump for a steal. I'm also about the buy some 550 injectors for a steal as well. My question is will this support 300whp or at least 275? For tuning I have a tactrix cable so I will be using ecuflash amd evo scan to log. And I, also running a 16g with the stock side mount for now.

I know I've seen evos run 300 plus with stock parts so to me it seems possible.
Also, when it comes to wiring, I'm not a fan of doing it because I'm not confident with it so id rather not rewire the evo pump.

I read on the Evo forums once or twice that those pumps have maxed out at around 270, but if you did rewire it you might be able to squeeze some more (but I'd be wary). I'd recommend checking out the Evo forums haha.

I made the whp under my avatar on a wally 255, stock injectors and a stock ecu. No tune whatsoever.

Mods at the time were:

3" exhaust
wally 255 and AEM AFPR
Bolt on BC272s
and a 20g ext gated (roughly ~12-14 psi)

Stock injectors and stock ecu, no tune whatsoever. The dyno pull was a 4th gear pull, 3rd fuel cut something fierce. So, Im sure had we done a 4th gear first I would have made 300+ but the stock smic was probably heat soaked hence the lower numbers.

As far as what's possible on paper, sure.. on a stable, majority gasoline (~90%) fuel with a nice clean and lean tune: 550s can do 300whp.

In an Auto AWD, in cold weather on a rich tune you could find yourself in trouble. Same goes for a boost spike in normal weather. Adding to that a stock (likely gunk filled) Sidemount IC and old-ass pump wiring with our already weak electrical systems and you are putting yourself in a precarious position.

The Evo 8 Fuel pump could do 300whp as well on paper, But I would definitely re-wire.. In fact, at a minimum, I would try and sell the Evo 8 to a Honda owner and spring for a Walbro GSS250 also called the "190LPH."

I've run the GSS250 before and and it comfortably supported boost in the low 20s on a Greddy 18G years back.

Further still.. I would take a look at this pump data provided by RRE:
RRE Instructions

And consider that you may one day want to up the boost a bit or change to a larger turbo (almost everyone here does) and bite the bullet on something you won't have to upgrade from. Or if E85 comes available in your area. You will then need between 30-50% more fuel flow in some cases.

Beyond the 190LPH you will need or want (both?) to move to an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to prevent over-run. As well as be able to stretch any pump or set of injectors you get in the future by adjusting the pressure accordingly.

I forgot to mention how dangerously lean my car was running. I was able to grab a log of both dyno runs I had. The first 3rd gear pull fuel cut and IDCs were insane. The fourth gear pull was a clean pull however the IDCs still read 120+%. Moral of the story, did I almost make 300 wheel with not very many mods? Yes. Was is safe or smart? Absolutely not. I wouldnt really recommend anybody make their power that way. Definitely upgrade the fuel system. For 300 wheel like you're going for I would suggest a wally 255, afpr and those 550s. You should be golden.

Look this took 2 seconds on google.

If you want to know how much power you might make with mods, spend the time and look at peoples profiles under the dyno and 1/4 tab and then look at their set ups and the power they put down.

I've read that thread before but it didn't fully answer my question. I'm more curious about what kind of power cababilities the entire set up has together.

Yeah I basically got the pump for free so I figure I might as well install it for now. I think I'll just shoot for 240-260 whp for now just to be safe and see how the set up handles that.
