i dont know if this belongs here, but what is the purpose of asking a question that has been answered and beaten to death for like two years when all you have to do is search?

benefits:
reads more air
faster spool
allows bov to be vented
if in blowthough pre leaks wont effect mixture
if piping blows off car will still run.

OK i know its been beaten to death now another question that has probably been beat to death what do i need to change of upgrade to in order to make it work on a 95gst(wiring harness, new intake tube etc...things of this nature)and how hard would it be for a novice to install

You should only need the MAF, MAFT (translator) and new UICP for blowthrough. If you are not doing a blowthorough then just a new shortRam (or some type of adapter)designed for the 3" GM MAF. Dejon tool sells them (new short rams).
