Whats up guys? Right now this is my exhaust setup: Apexi N1 downpipe that eliminates cat, 2.5 to flex section then 3 inch from there, then 3 inch apexi N1 cat back exhaust. My exhaust system is awesome and works real well. With my exhaust now i dont have a cat or the silencer in, so its loud but im also making some pretty good power with it. But i live in south carolina so it doesnt matter how loud my exhaust is. What im trying to find though is a 3 inch downpipe, from the turbo back, that eliminates cat, but also has a cutout right where the cat should be. Most of the time i will have the cutout closed to keep the noise down, but i want the cutout there for track use, and something to gain another possible 10 hp out of. Also since i live in south carolina, and if i wanted to, i could ride around with the cutout open cause it doesnt matter. I don't know if anybody is actually making these right now, but if any of u guys know of any sites and dealers send me a link. Once again im looking for a full 3 inch downpipe from the turbo back that eliminates cat but also has a cutout right where the cat should be. Thanks for any info or links.

I did this on my car but I basically just took a hrc 3" O2 elminating downpipe and cut out a section of it. Then put a 3" cutout in there. I actually cut off the flex section under the oil pan and put an 8" section of 3" piping there, then a 3" cutout after that. Doing it in place of the cat would definitly be the easiest way to do it, however I have emissions here in IL and I figured the closer to the turbo the better it would be anyways. Either way I LOVE this mod and it definitly opens up a few horsepower when it's open as well as the car just sounds badass then. I can take some pics of what I did if you are interested.

Awesome. Yeah man when you get a chance def post some pics of the setup on here. Thanks a lot. Any other ideas, post them up.

Does anybody know of a site or company that makes a full 3 inch downpipe that eliminates the cat and has the cutout built in around where the cat should be or a little before??? Maybe something similar to this one...

http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/Downpipe/index.html

Right now on that site is says TBA for eclipses, so if anybody knows anybody else that makes these let me know. Also the downpipe has to be able to bolt up to an Apexi N1 catback, which im pretty sure from the looks of it the quicktime downpipe would. Thanks for anymore replies.

This site sells a 3" inch downpipe. http://www.hahnracecraft.com/auto/eclipse/eclipsestg4and5.htm.

sorry haven't got my camera to link with the computer yet ... can someone host the pics once I get it working? They're rather large ( 1.3 mb each or so ).

www.jegs.com goto the exhaust section and look for the piece your talking about. it comes in different sizes and looks like a Y-pipe. it has a cover plate with a 4-bolt pattern. i assume it has a gasket for the plate and its universal big hot rods use them all the time.

true SRT-4 does not have a muffler..

and you can drive ANYWHERE without a muffler so long as the car is quiet enough to pass the accepted sound level..

you cannot however drive around without a Cat. convertor. it is part of the federal emissions requirement. if the car came from the factory with a cat. it has to keep a cat and be able to pass emissions.

My living where I do in Ky. allows me to not have to worry about this since we dont have testing :thumb: but it is illegal.
