DO i need the MAFT to make the best out of the MAF or can i use the SAFC2 and work with the MAF? I read some of the tech guide about MAF and translator but i dont think it mentioned anything not using SAFC2 to tune it. Can the MAF work fine without the translator? The reason why im askin is becuase getting the MAF, MAFT and SAFC2 is almos the same getting a DSMLink but not as good. Also im gettin a 3" GM MAF soon and i was just wondering do i really need the translator now to make the best out of it.

Instead of getting a GM MAF + MAFT + SAFC, just get the MAFT Gen II and a GM MAF. Do a search for "MAFT Gen II" and you'll find more info. It is like a MAFT and SAFC in one unit.

For DSMLink, you will need an e-prom ecu which is another $250. An SAFC type unit is a piggyback computer, it lies to the stock ECU and makes you run further away from fuel maps with bigger injectors.
