Toronto,
Okay I was at this shop today, getting some mods on my car (99 GS special edition), when I was talking about my car to this one dude, who mentioned how he had the same car as me a year ago, but wrecked it. As we still kept talking he mentions he still has the motor for his car sitting at his place, with no use for it. I asked what he'd do if I offered him $100 bucks he said sure no problem, I have no use for it.

My motor has about 120 000 miles on it, his has around 55 000 60 000 something to that effect, needs a new timing belt and drive belt that he cut to get the motor out.

I think I wanted it because I want a turbo set up in my car anyways. So where do I start to build it first, I'm guessing I should make it run first, but any other suggestions as far as building a 2nd motor outside of the car?

Might as well go ahead and rebuild the bottom end as well, so you can run more boost when you put it in. :thumb: Give it a nice port n polish and some boring out here and there while you're at it. You'll have a beast of a motor sittin in your garage before you know it. :dsm:

Since you have a second motor just take it apart bit by bit looking at every little thing and build it up the way you want. Save the money and go all out with the head and the stroker kit for the bottem end. Better hope when your done building the motor you have a trans that can handle the boost your going to run.

The guy says his tranny is brand new, because he did something to it before we wrecked his car. So how else would I go about rebuilding the tranny while I'm at it.

i wouldnt bother. Hahns broke at around 450-500 hp. when your making that much, then i would worry about rebuilding the tranny. but until then the factory unit will hold up just fine.

The tranny is fairly strong but the differential can back out way before 450hp.
