alright so i just purchased an apex'i n1 exhaust and the piping is like 2 1/2 inch and my catalack converter is stock like 1 1/2 or something like that, my problem is i dont know what to do about the size, do i buy a high flow catalack converter, test pipe it or what. i just dont like the way the flanges match together because its such a big difference just let me know what to do please if you have any opinions or whatever, thanks alot

I'm no expert on exhausts but from what I've heard and had experience with, I wouldn't recommend getting just a test pipe. My car has one and it sounds really raspy and somewhat annoying to me. It seems to me that I've read somewhere that if you put a high flow cat or a resonator in there it'll make the exhaust note deeper and cleaner but don't hold me to that because it may not be 100% true

You can buy adapters at almost all auto stores for like $5. You'll need to measure what you have and then get something like a 2 1/2" to 1 1/2" adapter.

alright i will have to do that then, but i dont quite comprehend what the extensions are do i have to cut and weld, because i want to keep the flanges because i just want to bolt up i dont want to cut the flanges off or anything, maybe im just a retard and have no ideah what your talking about but just explain it to me please

Be cheaper and a hell of a lot easier to take it to a muffler shop.

I agree.

You could probably install some sort of a transition without welding (exhaust clamps work great), but you would probably have to cut off a flange or two.

Ya, your best bet is probably to take it to an exhaust shop so they can weld in adaptors or whatever may be necessary. I recommend installing a resonator instead of a test pipe though. It will make the exhaust note a little more neighborhood friendly if you know what I mean.
