I understand that their will be a gap if I do use 2gb eclipse headlights on a 2gb talon bumper. My question is if it's really noticeable. I seen pics and you can bearly tell. Another plus, you get more airflow and your car looks sexy. What do you guys think of

You mean 2GB Eclipse Headlights with a 2Gb Talon bumper? IF so yes there will be a gap.
Talons used the same headlights for all years while the Eclipse changed in 97.

Personally I would just paint the bezel in the Talon headlights black, it looks just as good imo and doesn't look like poop with a gap.

Any air flow gained will have a minimal effect on cooling or performance.

Yes ,the 2gb headlights. This pic looks good with them. No modification s. I've seen the gap on that pic and it dosent look bad at all.

This is a better view. Same car as the one above.

If you started with a Talon, then there's no excuse to have the wrong headlights. If you started with a 97+ Eclipse and swapped the bumper, then I'd definitely give you a pass on it.

Lol, according to what you said, their shouldn't be excuses. I honestly think the 2gb headlights will look better than the 2ga chrome. I know you can bake the 2ga headlights to get the black housing but honestly the 2gb will look fine and the gab is not that bad??? I have the perfect combo LOL. Twisties 2gb talon bumper conversion

LOVE the 2Ga twisties with any 2Gb bumper covers. As soon as I find a set, mine will have them too.

There are some black housing ebay headlights with the Talon / 2Ga Eclipse shape... too bad they're set up with the wannabe HIDs.
Yeah, I didn't like the cheap looking headlights on eBay too. I already ordered oem 2gb headlights. Will arrive tomorrow. I just gotta figure out how am I going to trim bumper since my intercooler is in the way. I'm gonna upgrade to a punishment fmic but not until a month or two so Idk if I cut now it will mess up for the punishment fmic..

I put a badgless 2gb front bumper and headlights on my talon lookes good with the twisty rockers and thumbnail wing
I was not pleased withe the gap i thought it looked unfinished

I don't mind the gap. I know there were logs posted with 2ga/b headlight difference, and the coolant temps were quite a bit lower with the gap.

The gap doesn't look bad on a black car. Kind of blends in so I could live with it. The red car I didn't like the gap. Stands out.

I guess it would possibly flow more air in at the rad but aren't the 2gb headlight housings the same as a 2gb?

Yep answered my own question. Was pretty sure of it because I have 2 sets of each 2ga and 2gb at home.

So the housing is a little in the way of airflow but more air could go in there. I would like to see some test figures.
Heck get a leaf blower and suck up smoke from a road flare or something and blow it at the front of the car. See if the smoke flows through the gap and into the radiator.

The gap with the black car isn't too bad, but with the red it is ugly. I think the gap would only be acceptable if the car was really dark colored or it will stick out too much like the red car. And for airflow I'm a little surprised it would make a significant difference.

I couldn't stand the gap when I bought my Talon (the previous owner had 2gb headlights on it) so I actually bought a set of stockers, even though I prefer the 2gb Eclipse lights. The gap looks tacky and I know I'm anal about stuff like this, but it drives me crazy. Some may not care about a small detail like this, but I for one would love to see more DSMers put more effort into the details of their cars so we have more "finished" looking DSMs on the road. Seems like we have more and more beat up frankenstein DSMs driving around these days.

I completely agree. 100%

I would also not prefer to have the gap but like the look more of the 97-99 headlights. My solution was to take apart my 2ga headlights and night shade the chrome part. I left the light reflectors untouched.
That would be my suggestion of what to do to get the 97-99 headlight look with a 2ga front.

@ snake looks pretty good. With your flat black murdered out look I would do the chrome blackout on the headlights. Would finish the look up.

Couldn't agree more. Might as well spend the little extra money to make it look nice:thumb:
Can't stand some of the trashed DSMs I see on the road

I also agree with Chris. I just recently unbaked my 2ga headlights painted the housings black and baked them back together it's a very simple process that takes maybe 2 hours and makes the headlights look ten times better.
