2ga to 2gb conversion price

Hey everyone i think i may have finally gotton my hands on a gsx. Unfortunately its a 96. Im going to convert it to a 97 and up asap but i was just wondering if anyone on here may have remembered about how much it cost them in all. I know ill need headlights, bumpers, side skirts and the spoiler, i was just currious how much anyone else paid for it all.

Its all going to depend on where your getting the parts from, A junk yard or used is going to obviously going to be cheaper than the dealer. There are also non-oem reproduction parts out there that are going to be cheaper.

Why not just swap the bumpers/skirts/headlights with the 97 N/T you have? It would save you a boat load of time and money.

It looks like there is a body kit on it already so he may not have the factory bumpers, side skirts, etc.

^This. Maybe try some local searching aswell, Mine were taken from a parts car (everything minus side skirts) which cost me 700 bucks for the entire shell!

I dont have the stock from my n/t, i bought it with the kit already on. Im going to be repairing my nt being as it was totaled, so i suppose my best bet is to find a parts car. Is there any difference in the turbo model and a gs's bumpers and whatnot??

No difference in turbo model bumpers, just the spoilers are different.

No difference no, as long as it's 97 and up you're good. You should go with a talon 2gb conversion... Would stand out a bit, and is better looking imo.

Agreed, but it is so damn hard to find the front bumper. It took me 6 months to find mine.

One can get a new 2gb Talon bumper but it costs $400, and that is unpainted. You would have a good $600 into the front bumper alone. I wasn't willing to pay that. Someone else may be though.

well, it all depends what your going to buy like everyone else is saying. Remember that if you buy used parts that are different colors, you're going to have to paint it, which price can vary depending on what you want to do with that too. I'd say about $500 in parts, and then add in the cost of painting
250 for both bumpers(fogs and reverse lights included)
200 for headlights
50 for side skirts

smartest thing i'd do is look for someone parting out a 2gb dsm that's the same color as yours, and then buy their 2gb parts all at once, then you don't have to paint em

lets not forget i sold you that 2gb front bumper allen.... OP, i suggest you keep an eye out on your local craigslist. you might find a parts car, that you can get all your parts off of for cheap. or just keep trying the junkyard.. 2 weeks ago i was at the local junkyard and they had a 98 gs, with all the body parts. so its possible. good luck

Keep your eye on the partout ads on here too. You should be able to find everything you are looking for in one ad. That way you dont have a junk car sitting in your yard either.

Check out Miller Imports (his name is Stephen, he's a vendor on here). I noticed on their facebook that they just got in a 2gb Spyder with damn near every 2gb conversion part needed. His prices are reasonable and he's a good guy to deal with. You can also try Craigslist, Ebay, classified partouts or your local junkyard.

The going "reasonable" prices (in my opinion) for 2gb conversion pieces:

Front bumper $50 new from Certifit or between $30 and $80 used depending on the condition.

Rear bumpers should be between $40 and $100 used depending on condition. New ones are usually hard to find.

2gb Headlights (aftermarket with good fitment) can be bought new on Ebay from Headlight Depot (they are local to me) for about $85 for the pair. Used OEM ones in good condition go for about $100-$150.

2gb Fogs run around from $20 to $70 depending on condition

Reverse lights can be found for $25 new on Ebay

Fog bezels can be found for $30 new on Ebay

2gb Sideskirts (all 6 pieces) go for about $150. That's what I sold mine for.

2gb Turbo/99 OZ Edition wings can be found for about $60-$100 used.

Dumbest post I've seen on these forums in a while. Please don't listen to this guy.

We all know that not all the time you can find a "clean" 2gb so you have to "make do". I've done this conversion a few times and it's fairly easy. Hardest is obviously the high rise spoiler and the rear bumper, everything else is cake. Only downside is just having to get a paintjob if you installed new or different color body parts. And yes, filling the holes for the spoiler also is a pain if you have no idea what you are doing.

Leave the ####ing car the way it was meant to be. Soo many Talons and 2ga's being converted, making it rare to find a clean Talon or 2ga. Leave them be. Buy a 2Gb. I see hundreds of them on Craigslist and Ebay Motors all day long, its not hard to find a clean one so don't give me that crap. My friend just bought 5 in the past year and sold them for the next. Nobody I know has an issue.

But whatever, Keep adding to the Mutilation of DSM's and join the fad like everyone else.

Don't be so narrowminded, the "ease" of finding a 2gb awd is damn near Impossible in some locations, Louisiana being one of the hardest. If I wanted opinions on how you wanted me to mod my car I would have directly asked. I was in search of pricing not a bitchfit. Also paint and body are free for me, I just thought someone would have a place or two they recomended, which they did thank you to those why answered my question.

Now you sound even more dumb. If there was a clean 2gb GSX or Talon Awd available right now in South Florida at a good price, trust me I would be the first person to buy it because I've been looking for months. Like I said to the original poster, avoid this guy's posts, there's nothing informative just his apparent "hatred" for people who do these conversions.

Hey Jakelandry it's your car, have fun doing what YOU wan't to it and don't pay attention to the haters out there. Six years ago I bought a real clean 2ga gst which I totally converted to a 2gb because "I FELT LIKE IT". I bought the bumper cover for $120 shipped, the high rise spoiler for $100 and the rear bumper for $75 all ebay items. I came across the skirts by accident, just trollin my neiborhood craigslist. I came across a wrecked 2gb and decided to go check it out. I met the guy at his house and he was working on installing a motor on a clean gsx shell, he needed engine mounts that I happened to have and he showed me a full set of red skirts that he had offered his "bud" for $80...soo I offered him $40 and the mounts and he agreed. Just do what you want brutha and be proud to say it's a 96 when asked, you'll get much more better than not comments guaranteed
