Hey guys I would appreciate any advice or help. The winter in NY has been harsh this year and I ended up breaking my driver side door handle like two weeks ago. Today my gf broke the passenger side door handle. I had to leave my car stranded because I can’t get in. Is there any way to open a door without the handles?

Usually when the handle breaks off you can still grab the "post" behind the handle and pull. You may need pliers to grab it hard enough. Let me see if I can find a good picture.

EDIT: It usually breaks at this seam:

And you can still grab the piece behind the handle and pull it outward to open the door in an emergency.

Thank you I will try that tomorrow!

These cars are extremely easy to break into. You can damn near pull the window far enough away from the roof of the car to get your arm in there and grab the handle. Get a couple wedges and a coat hanger or something similar to hook the inside handle with.

Both sides broke further inside

@Clawless Are you unable to get in through the hatch? I'm assuming the inside handles work still.
I have the Spyder so no hatch unfortunately. I was able to use a clothes hanger to hook onto the piece you circled and then use pliers when i had enough room to grab it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
