Resolved 2G T-Stat housing to head gasket

I can't find this thing anywhere. I checked all the usual places (local parts stores, jnz, extreme, stm, etc), but can't find it.

Extreme had it for a 1g, but not a 2g. Anyone have part number, or link?

I honestly never seen a gasket, Not even the one you posted in the link. I have always just used a gasket maker/sealent.

I guess I could do that. I'd just much rather have a gasket.

Grey RTV for the Win. It works really well, just make sure that you don't add too much that it squishes inside your housing.

Did you try the dealer some parts vendors will not carry.

You won't find the gasket online because there isn't one on a 2G.

The FSM says to use RTV around the perimeter of the two ports on the housing. It looks like Ultra Grey is the correct generic RTV. Check your FSM or download it if you don't have one.

Steve is right Mitsu don't make a seal for that I was searching for weeks looking for the gasket. The factory service manual recommend using this sealant part #MD970389, but I use RTV the gray one held up fine.

I bought a roll of gasket material at advance auto for 3.99 or something like that, and theres a lot of material . just make sure that it isn't the cork stuff. that and a paper hole punch ,you'll be in business
