Hi everyone,:)
Ok i have a serious potentially dangerous issue that needs to be addressed. About a month ago my 95 Eagle Talon ESI automatic would stall when stopped at lights, almost like if someone turned the key off when stopped. Also the RPM fluctuates slowly between 800-475 RPM. With that in mind sometimes when there is a load on the engine like when the radiator fans kick on the RPM's drop and almost stall out the car.

I did the Key Dance method and i do NOT have any CEL, it has a new cam position sensor, took some carburetor cleaner and turned out no vacuum leaks, new crank position sensor, new ngk copper plugs, MSD 8.5mm wires, cleaned the throttle body, and cleaned the EGR valve.
I did alot of research on the forums but haven't been successful.

This issue nearly caused me to get into a bad accident when making a left unprotected turn at a green when it stalled halfway in the intersection.
Please i need your help:cry:

ANY input would be very much appreciated!:thumb:
Best regards,

Is there anyway to test the IAC? Or would i be better off removing the TB and cleaning the IAC with the TB off?

Cleaning might help but they are practically cheap. I ordered one off ebay for like 15$ and it works very well.

Update!
As of right now the car seems to be running ok. I ended up pulling off the TB and giving it a nice cleaning along with changing the gasket. While i was at it i changed out the IAC and seemed to clear up my stalling problem. I just need to drive the car around some more before i can say it's fixed.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has contributed!
Thanks

I will keep you guys posted if this problem comes back.

It was the IAC, the car hasn't stalled since. Thanks to everyone that has helped out.

i have a question? when your car stalled out did it take about 30-45 mins to start back up?
im having the SAME problem and its irritating cause i have a brand new motor and have replaced coil pack, coil pack harness, fuel pump, fuel filter, cam sensor, cam sensor connector, crank sensor, upstream o2 sensor, and cleaned the a-32 connector. so yesterday i took off my throttle body and IAC and cleaned them both and also got a new gasket so im hoping that fixes the problem!!

Have you tested your MAF and checked the wiring? I had a bad ground on my 89 GSX that was corroded in the wire. It would work great for a little bit, but into a drive it would just die on me. Surge for a second then boom NOTHING. Took about 45 min to refire. Almost like the wire was getting to hot. So when I found a poor connection with the ground, I fixed the wire, and wrapped it with heat shielding materials to keep any and all heat away. That fixed my problem with that, but yours could also be bad wiring in the fuel pump if you have not done the rewire. Since the wires are getting old and with age comes decay. Which could be why it takes time to refire. I would suggest checking your fuel pressure both at normal time, and then when the car dies. If its low when the car dies, its likely your fuel pump.

yeah i had my map sensor tested and i just replaced my fuel filter and did 4 tests on it and everything was good. computer said my IAC was shorted so i ordered a new one, cleaned my throttle body and put a new gasket on! hoping it fixes this so-far expensive problem haha.

correction^^ fuel pump and fuel filter were replaced

I had similar problems when my MAF was failing. I didnt notice any drivability problems except when I tried to idle

Hey everyone, I'm bringing this thread back from the dead because the problem came back. Ok the car was running perfect for the past two-three months. Well it turns out I have a parasitic drain on the battery ( problem for another day ) anyway the battery was discharged. Once I jumped the car ALL the problems came back if not worse. Now it bogs and stalls out at just about every stop, shudders when driving. When it stalls the CEL comes on for a split second but I do the key dance method and get no codes, just 55...
Please I want to fix this damn problem
Any help would be great!
Thanks!

+1 on the MAF, i had the exact same issues, and mine is also a GSX automatic, Key dance brings it back right away.
I replaced the MAF and had zero stalling issues since, except when an IC pipe blows off

My guess is the distributor
I would check Sparks plugs first
wires also
check distributor maybe just replace it and double check timing to make sure its on point.
My buddies car was doing the same thing he replaced the dustributor and it runs like a champ now
Hope that helps!

Hey everyone i took my car into school and my teacher scanned my TCM and it turns out that my torque converter is locking when at a dead stop causing it to stall. It also explains the harsh shuddering on the highway. So this leaves me with my next question how do i know what kind of torque converter i need because autozone has 3 different ones to choose from. Any help would be great! :)
