Blue smoke when stopped

When I stop, my car barrels out blue smoke. Everywhere, its really embarassing. But when i start driving again, it stops. It only happens when its been sitting for a few minuets. I've read about this problem being because of blown turbos but mine seems to be fine. No shaft play and spools to 15lbs at 3,500. I've also heard that this maybe because the piston rings are fried? Is this true? I need help. Thanks alot

Do a compression test on that engine. It is very important that you make sure that engine is in top shape. Compression Test

Be sure to do a dry test and a wet test following the dry test. Post up your numbers when you get them then we will have some more answers for you.

If you only blow smoke at idle, it more than likely is your valve seals in your head.

If you blow smoke, and a whole lot more while boosting, it could be your turbo.

Good advice IMO. When my DSM was smoking at idle, fresh valve seals cured the problem for me.

Its very true that your piston rings can be fried but i dont know if you've changed your oil latley but try putting a thicker oil in... i had a 90 tsi and and it would do the same thing, put a thicker oil in, it was fine!!

Lucas Oil treatment works really good for this. Only use as much as you need though, start out with a half quart, drive it for a while to see if it works, if not use more.
