I've been searching forums all day and can't find answer I'm looking for......The car has been fine up till now. I got into my 95 TSI AWD this morning to go to the store and it wouldn't go into reverse. I wiggled the shifter and it went in, but made a grinding noise so I put it back in neutral and tried the other gears---nothing--like hitting a wall. I shut it down and it goes into all gears while not running. I held in the clutch and tried starting it in 1st and it started but made a rubbing/grinding noise, but didn't try to move. I know that my slave cylinder is leaking and that is first on the list to replace on Friday when I can work on it. Would a bad slave be causing this (I know its been leaking for a while and its been driveable) or is it something more serious with the clutch or tranny? Any help would be appreciated because I have limited time to work on this and need to know if I should plan on dropping the trans.
I'm really starting to hate 2gs, my 1g has treated me much better
