shifting problem

hey guys my laser that i just bought has a big problem and i cant figure out. so i start my car and push in the clutch and put it into first and give gas while letting off the clutch but once it engages the car starts rocking forth violently and wont stop unless i floor it and only from a deadstop and only in first . please help ........my first manual

Check your forward and rear motor mounts, they could be loose. Do you notice anything different while driving?

for sure check your motor mounts. if those are all good you might be having a transmission or clutch problem. let us know what you find with your mounts and any updates on the situation.

ill do that and also my car will not stall sometimes with my foot off the gas and how do i check the motor mounts

I assume you know how to drive stick shift right?
Have you did any recent tranny jobs?

i think and the guy i bought it from just put a new clutch in

Just inspect them. Make sure theyre not cracked or broken, or even that the bolt through it is in! I had my rear mount bolt fall out one time and I had similar symptoms.
