Today I was driving and all the sudden my shifter would get stuck once it was in 5th....shortly after I couldn't shift at all. My shifter was just flailing back and forth. So I coast into a parking lot in the middle of nowhere and rip apart my dash. First I notice that my linkage is just disconnected, I was like alright NO BIGGIE. Then I lift the shifter up to re-attach it....THERE IS A HUGE CRACK.
Right where the shifter pivots on the linkage and assembly. What was welded previously (unknown by who) is now snapped. I was able to get it home after putting a new codder pin on the end of the linkage but the shifter assembly is screwed. Can anyone please help me out:pray::pray:. This is my daily driver and I need it ASAP. Can I use a 420a 5 speed? Does the year matter? If I can find an EVO 5 speed will that help for performance later on? DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS SELLING ONE??!?!! I have absolutely no idea where to look besides the junkyard. Which is where I am going after school tomorrow.:hellyeah:

PLEASE HELP ME. THANKS TO ALL MY FELLOW DSM DRIVERS!!

If you can't find a replacement, you can do this. The same thing happened to me in my gsx. I just got a bolt, 4 washers to space it out, and a locknut. I've been driving with it for 2 years like that. Hope this helps
