Nope, the 6-bolt power steering runs off of a different type belt.

If those are too large, though they shouldn't be, go down in size a half inch to 27".

Well ive done some looking around and still can't find a belt that fits.

Autozone & Advance 5040274
O'Reilly K040274

Those all match the one I bought from extremepsi so they are correct numbers for a stock 2G 4G63. All of which are far too large for my car. Even with the power steering pump pulled all the way past the adjustment holes I still couldn't get the belt tight.

So I tried a k040250 (25 3/4") from O'Reily, the other stores didn't have anything smaller. This was too small. The original belt is a 4PK645 which when searched came of an EVO 3. So did the EVO 3 motor have a different power steering bracket or something? The belt length is about 26" and just fits, so if I can find a 26 1/4-1/2" it will fit perfect. But I can't find anything in this size.

I've actually got the same issue; I've got a '95 evo III motor in my 2g, and haven't been able to find the right belt for the power steering. Let me know if you find the part number for it!

- their website says "Orders to Europe and America take between 7 and 12 working days depending upon location and charges are applied based on weight, size and destination."

so I'm going to order it and cross my fingers. I'll be sure to let you guys know if it fits.

If you could, post the specs on the belt aswell.

But still... what is different? It's either the mounting location on the block on the PS bracket's, mounting piece.
hmmmm.....

crap... and i think i just took that other bracket to the junkers last month... agh

Did you order it already?

It says it’s a 645mm belt and I measured mine today at it’s around 670mm so it may not fit. If you haven’t ordered it I would go up a size to maybe a 670.

I took a few pics of my p/s mount so maybe someone could compare it to a stock 2G.

It could just be that the Japanese spec engines (EVO1-3's) have different pulleys. You could maybe see if you can get the pulleys from a 2G US car and check size or maybe measure yours and ask nicely if someone could measure their pulleys to see if there is a diifferenance... If you cant find a belt or pulleys you could always pull the P.S. bracket off the engine, slot the one bolt hole on the front of the under the belt/pulley, and put some washers in between the pump bracket and engine to space it out a bit so that the belt you do have fits... At least as a temporary thing anyway.

look like the stock mount and bracket (what I have aswell)
Looking forward to solving this issue!

The issue with mike96's idea is the torsion on the bolts and mount due to the belt tension. I know because I'm doing that exact thing now. Still don't know why it won't line up properly :(

I just got this belt in today, and it's WAY too short. I'll go down to my garage to get the actual length for you guys, but it should be known that this belt will NOT fit, by any means. :(

The JDM motor you have in your car has a different power steering bracket on it. You'll need the bracket from a USDM 7-bolt for the factory length belt to fit properly. I had the same issue when I put the engine in my car, took me awhile to figure out.

Part number: MB911871

I suggest going to the junkyard and searching for it, it's around $40 new.

DING DING DING!!!!
I've been waiting for this answer for 1.5 years! Now, when you say bracket, you mean the part the PS pump bolts to, or the part that bolts directly to the block? Haven't been able to find a diagram, but if you've taken your engine apart, you know what i'm talking to.

Yeah, I'm talking about the bracket that holds the pump to the block. This guy right here:

If you look on the bracket itself, you'll see a number/letter code stamped into it. You won't be able to see it with the pump mounted to it but between the JDM and USDM brackets, you'll notice they are different.

I can go out later today and see whats stamped into mine if you need me to, just let me know. I believe you have to remove the water pipe to swap the brackets, I remember it was really annoying to do. I think I pulled my turbo off the manifold as well.

Why go through the hassle and change the bracket and what not, just got to Autozone, Advanced, or NAPA with the size belt you need in mm or inches and they can get you one.

Did you read through the entire thread?

No store near me sells one that will fit.

If you dont want to find a new mount I would look here, and maybe try to get them to exhange it.

My belt measures 670mm so I might buy the 4pk675 or 4pk680 they both would fit perfeclty as the belt on my car is real tight to get on and its a 4pk645. It came that way and may of stretched over time and is why it fits on my car while the new one you bought didn't.
