Well I haven't spent much time on it until now but since last October ive wanted to get my power steering hooked up. With the alternator relocation and power steering pump spacer the p/s pulley wasnt aligned with the water pump pulley. I've tried to run it a few times but the belt would throw off during a pull over 6500rpm.
If your having this issue, check your water pump pulley. A common fix for this is to run 3 belts, but with this water pump that won't work either. I'm including a picture of my water pump. The inner pulley aligns with the crank, and jays racing relocated alternator. But the outer pulley does not line up with the Crank or power steering after being shimmed out with the jay racing kit.
I am making my own "spacer" for the power steering pump that will line it up with my water pump so i can finally steer my car easily. Notice how much farther away the holes are on my mount (raw aluminum) vs the one that works with a stock water pump (red).
Does anyone know what water pump I'm running and causing this issue?
