I just removed the headliner on my 98 Eclipse RS model and should the headliner be able to stand up kind of on its own once out of the car. The reason I ask is when I read the tech article it looked like there was a cardboard piece underneith, mine it just seems to be a bunch of thin foam and very flimsy.

From what I've seen at the junkyards, the foam will decompose over time. I managed to find a good one, but it won't work with my aftermarket sunroof. My headliner is pretty bad too, but I keep looking.
