so i have 1g laser and putting a 2g head on it. I got eveyrthing almost done but the hoses and my coil/sparkplug wires dont go on can anyone help me out? I mean the hoses on the intake manifold.

I was told you didnt have to get the head doles done. The bolt fits in with plenty of room for oil.

well from what I am understanding, the 1g 6bolt use a 12mm head stud, and the 2g 7bolt use a 11mm head stud.

I have measured a ARP head stud at .465 and the bolt hole at .470
yes the studs will pass through the holes when the studs are not in the block, BUT due to maching tolerances from the factory, the spacing may be off a little bit, like .003-.005 i would guess. IF that is the case, when installing the head, you would have to force the head down, instead of it sliding into place easly.

I know people have just plopped the head on without boring the holes. What if you did that, but bored out the part that is the oil passage, just on the one stud. And only up to the slot the oil comes through. You could even go to a 1/2" bit to give more room.

Run a 1/2" bit through them all, that is what i do. The extra space around the bolts harms nothing. The dowels locate the head not the studs/bolts. It makes it way easier to get the 2g head on a 6-bolt block.

so should i dril the holes out? or leave them, alo what about the intake mani for hoses and what not.
