Hello everyone I'm currently doing some drivetrain maintenance on my GSX, and replacing the passenger side axle seal is on the list because it's leaking. The old seal looked like it was pressed in slightly too far, causing the leak. The machined area on the transmission that the outer race of the seal seals against looks ok. But my question is how far does the new seal get pressed in? I know there is nothing stopping the seal from being pressed in too far. Does the edge of the seal I point to in the image sit flush with the transmission case? Or does it stick out further? I've numerous threads with this question, and read the install procedure in the service manual, but nothing is clear on the depth, and I don't want to have to do this twice! Any help to clear this up is appreciated.
Thanks!!
