FMIC + Downpipe + Intake + Exhaust and some electronics not to mention a BOV ..

Welcom bro... First things first, maintenence, maintenence, maintenence, in that order... Although the car only has 47k miles there are still things you wanna check for... Buy a haynes repair manual and look at theire maintenence schedule... Some things to check for are all fluids, timing belt, acc. belts, water pump, balance shaft tensioner, balance shaft belt etc etc...once everything is 100% then you could go on and mod... check out this page...Try to upgrade as close as you can in the upgrade path order... :dsm:

Holy crap thats crazy. Im from the middle east myself but Im residing in Arizona. Your whip looks good though, i wonder howmuch it cost you over there.

LOL ... pure luck ive beeen nagging its owner 4 almost 3 yrs till he said enough it wasnt that bad though LOL ... i used to own a 420A in the us :)

not really i just miss my family and it was time to go back ...

where can i get the maintance kit ppl

Theres no such thing as a maintenance kit. You need to buy all the belts, pullies, tensioners, and whatever else you need pieced together then do the install.

well after looking and looking around for rebuild kits .. i found this

eBay Motors: 98-99 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE 2.0 4G63 ENGINE REBUILD KIT (item 220061892652 end time Mar-09-08 11:57:41 PDT)

eBay Motors: MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE TURBO 2G TIMING WATER PUMP KIT 4G63 (item 170200216148 end time Mar-15-08 14:08:37 PDT)

i also managed to find some more kits with water pump and tensioners
btw overboostin when u said pullies .. what kind of pullies ? could they be after market product as well and not just ## avrg OEM ..

Are you looking to overhaul your entire motor? for what? Not necesarry unless you have extremely low compression. I highly doubt you do with only 47k miles on the clock. As far as the belts, water pump, and tensioners...I would definitely get them from the dealer. As far as pullies, I think they only make aftermarket crank pullies which are OK. Other pullies you need to get from the dealer as well if you need them like balance timing pully, guide pullies, etc...

There's no point in replacing your timing belt, tensioners, water pump, etc. if the car has 47k on it. If it had like 80k, then i would recommend it, but its not needed under 47k. Just do basic maintenance. (oil change, new oil and fuel filters) Plus, if you are planning on building your engine, then you would get a performance timing belt, performance head gasket, and all the other performance/maintenace goodies as you build it. Don't waste your time overhauling an engine if your going to build it soon or buy a built engine.

i just wanted to service it .. nothing more nothn less .. seems like a tune up etc since the car has been parked for almost a year untouched ..

having that out of the way whats next .. bpu's ? what brands do u guys recommend .. as far as the FMIC , intake and dp exhaust combo ?

First of all, congrats on the purchase. Definetely a beauty and rare to find that clean.

Well FMIC, you have SBR. Their frontmount looks really nice. ETS makes a very nice piece too!!! See link below.

ETS - Extreme Turbo Systems - Custom Intercoolers, Intercooler Kits and Performance Parts

Also Buschur Racing sells a amazing piece. Although it is pretty expensive. see link below

https://secure.buschurracing.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=23_56_174&osCsid=df846c6edf0aea648fc6400e9ef9e39b

Well with FMIC pretty much covered. we can move to intake and exhaust.

Intake is simple. Its just a pipe. visit either Dejon Tool, or Injen. They make very nice intake pipes. Then you can get also the K&N filter and your set.

Dejon Tool - DEJON | Powerhouse
Injen - Injen - Home
K&N Filter - 2G#DSM#Air#Filters#::#2G...

As far as exhaust just visit sites like:
Buschur Racing - Buschur Racing - Your source for Mitsubishi racing parts and accessories for Evo VIII and Evo IX Lancers as well as Mitsubishi Eclispe, focusing on turbo upgrades and exhaust systems.
DSM Parts - DSMparts.com
Slowboy Racing - Welcome To Slowboy Racing
Extreme PSi - EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - Home
Extreme Turbo Systems - ETS - Extreme Turbo Systems - Custom Intercoolers, Intercooler Kits and Performance Parts

All these sites have a large selection of parts for your DSM. If anybody else can chime in on anything please do so.

Hope this helps man, let me know how it goes.

Dude you are my hero .. thanx aton ..

a friend of mine recommended Apexi FMIC since he had it on his ..
for the exhaust i want the Cf HKS TI and it seems like i only saw ppl with Apexi Dp have it along with the exhaust umm ..
intake Injen or dejon no problem there ..
i still need upper pipes or should i get a full intercooler with the pipes .. ?

haha no problem man.

Well APexi are also good units. I just named a few you know LOL.

Exhaust most people do go apexi, but HKS is great. I personally love them.

As far as pipes depending on your turbo selection you can go with the Dejon Tool super side mount. They claim it supports up to 400hp. IF you do then you can get their own intercooler pipes for now and they will fit later with the super side mount.

THe thing about getting intercooler pipes now is that if you get a FMIC later, you might have to redo some of your pipes. So just do your research and plan ahead on that.

If you were thinking of doing the timing belt job, which should be done every 60 thousand miles, than i suggest getting this kit: VIP Garage: Complete 7 Bolt Timing Kit and to stay away from the ebay kits because there have been quite a bit of people on here who have had there t-belts break on them. True you could just wait another year or 2 to do all the major maintenance and just do the fluids right now but it sounds like your in a hurry and ready to go fast. LOL. i don't blaim you. My 98 GSX is completely stock and I'am ready to start modding but I'm gonna try to control myself and I'm actually saving my money so i can go ahead and get all the maintenace out the way so i can start doing all of the mods i want to so i don't have to worry about things breaking later on.

As for intake I suggest to get an ebay intake pipe and to get the K&N F.I.P.K. filter. The filter is a little pricey but its def. worth it.
Ebay Pipe: eBay Motors: 95 96 97-99 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE TURBO GST/GSX Air Intake (item 370028755899 end time Mar-09-08 23:32:22 PDT)
K&N Filter: RRE's Eclipse Intake and Exhaust Upgrades

The BOV I'm gonna suggest is the 1g BOV. Unless you want to make a rediculous amount of boost than the 1g might not be for you. But all i know is please, PLEASE make sure if you upgrade your BOV to recirculate it.

As for the exhaust you can look at porting your 2g manifold or maybe go for the SBR mainfold. Also a Megan Racing o2 housing will be good. The downpipe...hmmm...you can look at VRS and see what they have to offer you. Now the cat-back your going to get a lot of suggestions on this one and personally if you have the money Megan Racing will be good but a lot of people(including me) will say(and i agree) that ebay is one of the best ways to go for a cat-back if your looking for something a little cheaper. I'm looking at the G-Power exhaust on ebay that they have.

Well...its 2 in the morning and I hope I didn't screw up anything and I said everything correctly, but I really hope this helps you out. BTW great find for such a low, low mileage GSX. I hope it treats you well!:thumb:

:dsm:

EDIT: Forgot about daylight savings. It's actually 3! LOL

HEhehhhe its like 7:00pm here so im fully awake :)
i checked every single link u guys offered and i likey what they pack from prices and goodies :)

Intake i might be going for the injen we used to have it on my friends Gs-t and he loved it so we might shove that into the equation :)

FMIC APexi with piping kit and hks bov ssqv or if there is anything else thats better .. advising please in this catagory ..

Hks Cf Ti exhaust but i dont know what DP .. other than apexi :/

anything else i should consider to the list ..

oooh one more thing FMIC who else makes a full kit with upper piping ?

P.s money is not an issue guys so if u have something that u know off but alil bit pricey .. please shooot me with it :)

TooooDles and thanx aton

I see a lot of people going with an injen or dejon intake but imo, an intake is an intake. Save the money and just buy an ebay one and with the money saved, go buy a KN FIPK. That should fullfill your needs. The maintenance as mentioned above is the most important thing. Don't forget this car is 10 years old so it's always good to check all of the rubber. I'd consider taking it to a mechanic and having them give it a thorough once over.

d

yes you are absoluteyly correct. I completely forgot. I actually have an ebay one, running with no problems for 7 months now.

My DSM has low miles also, 35K. But as mentioned above this means nothing when it comes to maintenance. I would highly suggest the book as mentioned above and go to http://vfaq.com and read the 101 ways to kill a DSM, print it off and remane it "Bilbe"! I would also suggest the Megan downpipe, hes right for the money it you can't beat it and I would even go as far as saying it is just as good as the Apexi (Ive had both). From there I would suggest Apexi cat back, cheapest place I found was ebay. Doesn't really matter where you get it as long as its not a cheap ass profec. I would go with greddy boost controller (profec B or my favorite but bulky Profec E-01) you can get that on ebay also or DSMparts.com. I agree with the intake theory, they are all pretty much the same, but I do like the looks of the INJEN pipe :). Also another thing for looks if your interested in that check out -Welcome to Top Shop Inc.- they have a lot of cool stuff for your dsm...from headliners to door panels. Also lambo doors that I'm working on right now :). I would buy a 190 walbro pump it is easy to install and sufficiant. When or if you upgrade the turbo I would go with bigger injectors and MOST IMPORTANT SAFC 2. The SAFC 2 also has knock sensor in which the first one does not...not that much more either. Most important have fun and do everything the right way the first time. Cut corners = $$ and disepointment. Also like I said I have the low miles also so I try to keep those low :)

Have fun and stick with DSMtuners and you will be happy
