I have been trying to find a rattle in the front end of my spyder for a while. I jacked the car up and checked play on the wheels - they are fine no movement. I did find one of the curved lower control arms lose and replaced that. I also replace both sway bar end links. Still have the rattle. I only hear the rattle when I am going slow and hit any kind of bump. It disappears at approximately 20 mph.
I had the car up on blocks and crawled underneath and grabbed and shook everything I could find. The only thing that I found that had any play was the axle. They are tight at the wheel next to the spindle, but have some up-down play at the transmission. Is this normal or do they need to be replaced?
