It gets rid of a little bit of weight and clutter.

That, and also depending on the thickness of the core, may interfere with the condenser for the AC.

The biggest problem you would probably run into would be overheating issues since now, youd have two air flow restrictions in front of the radiator.

im not sure of there is room between the rad and condenser but one could mount fans to the condenser so that it blows through the condenser to the radiator too. This will allow cooler air conditioning as well as cooler engine temps as well. As i said im not sure if there is room though

I vote for stock fans properly hooked up.. I've ran every slim fan i could get and eventually surrendered to making new piping for my FMIC to let em fit the stockers back in as nothing i could find would properly cool the system with the AC on, and i GOT to have my AC :)

i have a front mount with ac both stock fans no overheating problem. its been over 90 here lately been running the ac nonstop all in town. fmic is cheapo ebay core thats 2.5" thick

the big issue here is, most slim fans are wired up to push, not pull like a factory fan. I always pull my AC, so this allows me to mount the fans on the back side of the rad pushing in, and they work AWESOME. If youre mounting them on the engine bay side like stock, you either have to reverse the polarity of the wires (instead of hooking up blue to blue, and black to black, you hook up blue to black, and black to blue), OR you could unbolt the fan blade and re install it backwards and hook it up like normal so then it will be pulling air in. So unless you do that, if you mount them on the engine bay side and hook it up normal, youll actuall be pushing hot air from the engine bay back through the radiator, inevitably creating an overheating situation.

I've also had some problems with running warmer than I'd like. I've even contemplated putting my stock main fan back in. Right now I have a nice thick OEM pusher fan from some European car. It pushes a ton of air, but I think that if I added the stock one pulling too, I'll have zero cooling issues. I should be able to suck up small animals off the road with them too. LOL
