I was going to order an eprom ecu and a chip from jeff but I have a few questions before and was wondering if anyone could help me out, I own a 1996 talon tsi, currently i have a t-28,maft,3in exhaust, bov, safc, walbro 255lp, fpr, small fmic+ hard piping. Currently I am hitting fuel cut top of third gear so I plan to order a set of 550 inj. in a few days, so my questions are,
1. I plan on putting in a 6 bolt block in a month or two, could i get random misfire removed now even if i still have the 7 bolt in?
2. What all do you guys recommend I get put in the chip?
Any help would be great, thanks

Just get the the stage 3 chip tell him everything that's done to the car and if you do any realy big changes down the road it's only $20 to Change your set up...
As far as injectors go I've always been one to say get as big as you can, so so don't have to buy them again...Jeff also sell injectors that are matched to your chip... takes out some of the guess work...when you don't have a flow sheet for some other ones..

didnt know he offered injectors to, yea i was going to do the stage 3 with ecu for 400, if get a chip with the 6 bolt block random misfire on the chip now will it affect anything now if i still have the 7 bolt?

i did a boost leak test many times, in 3rd at about 5k it just feels like it hit a brick wall, i had a mbc on and it would keep hitting 15lbs took it off and still would do the same thing.

15lbs is probably the wastegate pressure on your turbo, meaning you can't turn it down any more than that. And yeah that would be enough to cause fuel cut if it's cold enough outside, especially in 3rd gear, but not because of your injector size, it would be caused by your ecu.

So to answer your question, get the stage 3 chip, with w/e size injectors you're going to get. The stage 3 will also disable ecu controlled fuel cut so you'll be ok, you just want to be positive that you have no boost leaks and test often if you go this route.

I have an eprom ecu and stage 3 chip from Jeff. Granted my car is a 1g, but he did a great job with the chip, my car uses 950cc injectors and runs on e85.

ok ill double check for leaks again tomorrow, it is winter now so it is cold, i also think my pcv vavle is bad again so ill check that. So if i get the chip and ecu what size injectors should i go with and would it be ok to get the misfire taken off if i had the 6 bolt block but not have the 6 bolt block in yet and run the 7 bolt?

If you are getting a chip anyway, I would not go to any less than 850's. Keeps the IDC way down so the injectors are happy and leaves plenty of room to upgrade later on.

If youre going to get a dsmchip. why dont you get a burner and use tunerpro(free). that way you can make adjustments yourself

The main stuff is in there for 2g
Idle speed
Injector compensation and deadtimes
Fuel cut
revlimit removal
Maf compensation
Fuel tables
Timing tables
I've been told the stutterbox code is pretty similar to 1g with a few bytes needing to be changed
There is some 2g info in the dsmecu yahoo group but obviously not as much as 1g

well i did a boost leak test and with the pcv valve off the valve cover air come through it, i bought 3 new ones, three different brands from three different auto stores and all still allow air to come through, i dont know what else to try.

It is because you didnt buy the OEM Mitsubishi one. They are designed to hold boost whereas the parts stores are not
