Just spent this weekend putting 99 Eclipse doors, fenders on a 95 Talon TSi. When we tried to put the Eclipse hood on the Talon, it would not latch fully closed. We removed all four rubber 'adjusters' from the Talon and the hood would hit the top of the headlights, and there was a one inch gap in the center (between top of bumper and hood). After 45 minutes of screwing around, we switch back to the Talon Hood and it fits great, no gaps, etc. Compairing the hoods (visually), cannot see anything bent, and the Eclipse hood did not seem kinked when on the car...just would not go all the way down (hit headlights). All research says they are the same hood....anyone have simular problems with 2g Eclipse hoods on a 2ga Talon?

As stated the hoods are the same. If you are having fitment issues its because you don't have it adjusted properly.

Why did you change doors fenders and hood? to do 2gb conversion you need headlights bumpers sideskirts and wing. all body panels are the same...

Thanks to all for your inputs! First, we were just changing the body panels because they were in much greater condition...we are not changing a Talon into an Eclipse.
Several mention to 'adjust' the hood...I did not see anything to adjust? We did not remove the hinges from the car, and the hinge just bolts into the hood, no slotted holes, etc. (yes, there is a small amount of movement). The Eclipse hood seemed over 3/4 inch away from latching when it hit the top of both headlights. We finally put the Talon one back on and it fit perfect. Unless someone can tell me what/were to adjust, I must conclude the Eclipse hood must be bent somehow...(but I don't see it!) Oh well, thanks to all for your suggestions!! (-I thought the hood swap would take 10 minutes...but you all know how DSM things go!)

This problem is user error, not dsm error ROFL
If its a latching issue, the rubber stoppers need to be adjusted, usually its the inner two, closest to the latch. You need to play with all four though and you will get it to properly catch, that seat. Start with all as low as they go, than back them out counter clock wise in 1/4 turns until the proper height is reached.

No difference at all. I sold my stock hood off my 96 to my friend who owns a 98 Eclipse fits perfect.

Try pulling or pushing while screwing the 4 bolts into the hood, I had to mess around with my carbon fiber one a little before I got it to latch right.
