2G Drop Engineering coilovers?

Hey guys I came a cross a set of Drop Engineering coilovers for a 2G. I searched their site and can't seem to find them on there. I did a google search for these and nothing came up for a DSM application (only 240sx, Honda, ect)

Has anyone else tried these? Or heard of them? Below are the specs off the ad.

Looking to put these on my N/T if try are worth it.

The Drop Engineering 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Coilover Kit is precision manufactured utilizing state-of-the-art materials and hardware to provide the highest levels of performance. Each system has flawless bolt-on installation and is backed by an excellent 1 year warranty.

All Drop Engineering Coilover Kits feature pillowball upper mounts with mono inverted tube shocks. Rubber dust covers keep the dampers protected and working at their best. A trained professional should install all DE products. Any issues with compatibility or installation should be addressed before attempting to install the product.

The purchaser's remedy for breach of this limited warranty, exclusive of all other remedies provided by law, is expressly limited to repair or replacement of any part or parts. All products returned for warranty consideration must be returned to DE with all transportation expenses prepaid. Considering 2G's use shocks instead of McStruts (which aren't usually inverted, would probably give some mounting issues! ) I'm going to hazard a guess that they're re labled K-Sport/Megan/D2/etc whatever useless junk, and I'll double my wager if they're from 800-1200 USD.

Here is the eBay item number for them- 221156731907. They look nice and they sell other Drop Engineering products. I just can't find any info about them on a DSM.

A pillowball top, but the spring still rests against the plate? That's seriously weird, but it does suggest that they aren't just the standard crud in green.

I was confused by that too. Would you say they're still crud, just not the standard crud we normally see? I'd be surprised if they're anything decent at the price they're being sold at. I'm also not a fan of their spring combo, but that seems to go for a lot of the coilover setups out there.

I won't be using these coilover for anything more than some spirited driving. There are no tracks around here that I know of that have track days.

I would love to get the know yellow group buy but I would never use those to any extent. Right now I have the stock kyb's with tein lowering springs. Needless to say the struts are starting to die. I was looking for a cost effective solution that would allow me to set the ride height where I want it and also improve handling.

I know the Megan ez coilovers are only a little more and at least I can find reviews on them. I just know people use Drop's engine mounts and they have a decent reputation.

Why not go with the Koni/GC combo? Not quite as expensive as the DG setup, but still on the same shock (which is probably much better than the one above).

Brian where could I get that GC combo? I have looked for it before but had troubles finding out about it. I really want a quality product at a decent price for what I will be using it for.

You can get the GC coilover sleeves directly from Ground Control.
Ground Control - Coilover Conversion kit, 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse/Talon

Then pick up the Koni yellow shocks from your favorite vendor, since a lot of people carry them.

NHMS

New Hampshire Motor Sports is a little over an hour away and they have plenty of events with COM, BMWCCA, Porsche Club, etc.

There's also Limerock Park in CT that also has a ton of events that you can go to.

COM Sports Car Club

You can also go over to FT Devens and do an autocross.

Believe me, it's an incredible amount of fun.

I'll probably be at every regional event next year!

Just to close the loop on this I decided against getting the DE coilovers. Instead I ponied up the extra $100 and got the koni yellows. For now I will just use the tein s tech springs that I have untill I am ready to get the ground control set up.
