2g Drip Mouldings Discontinued

Hey Guys
Just contacted extreme psi to order left and right drip moulding for above the window. They told me mitsubishi discontinued them. Anyone know where i can purchase these brand new.

I was under the same understanding. Youll have to go junkyard, ebay maybe. Youll have to look for them used

According to MachV, the driver's side is the only one that is discontinued.

If you guys want them I can get both sides through the chrysler dealer I work at...they aren't too expensive either. Shoot me a PM if you're interested in the price

If your current drip moldings are bad and faded, as most are already, just sand it real good to the bare metal and repaint them. That's what i'm going to do with mine and is a cheap yet good affordable way to help make them look good again.

I just ordered both a passenger and driver side maybe 2 months ago. Both were in stock but the dealership told me there was only maybe 15 or so left of the driver's side in the country and none could be ordered from Mitsu. They didn't have any so they directed me to a dealership that did or so they thought...instead I got 2 passenger side moulding and by the time I shipped the extra one back all the driver side mouldings were gone. But as far as I know there should be plenty left of the passenger side

I know someone who had this problem and he just bought Duplicolor bumper black paint and it looks legit and is flexable so it won't crack under intense cold and heat.

Funny thing is, those drip mouldings were the first thing i removed and tossed out, to clean up the lines of the car.

Update 06/24/09:

MB88173, Drip Moulding LH, has been discontinued and can no longer be ordered through Mitsubishi or any online dealers. I went through Maperformance, MachV, JNZtuning and finally parts.com. They were all unable to place the order. I finally called my local dealership and asked them to locate this part nationwide.

There are 20 items in stock at U.S. dealerships (19 now since I bought one from Little Rock, AR) as of 06/24/09. If anyone is looking for these, I suggest that you go to your local dealership, ask them for a print out for all the dealerships that have this part in stock/in hand and order it ASAP.

I've ordered 5 sets of these in the past 2 months for the local dsmers and haven't had a problem yet getting them, both sides are available on my locator at work. I usually get them in about a week

Which means that my local Chrysler dealership fed me bullshit. Do you have Chrysler part numbers for them?

yeah I sure do...the passenger side part # is MB881974 and the driver side part# is MB881973
I still can't believe that they said they couldn't get them that sounds like someone there just being lazy.

Interesting, I didn't know Chrysler and Mitsubishi part numbers were the same.

Travis, is the set you just ordered for me discontinued as well? I know a few people that would probably want to pick some up before all the inventories ran out.

If these are all really discontinued, maybe I should pick up a set of the uppers too before everyone runs out.

I just checked all the part numbers to see where we are on inventory for these...it shows
upper right P#MB881974 (74) in the country
upper left P#MB881973 (85) in the country
lower right P#MB914046 (205) in the country
lower left P#MB914045 (203) in the country

Matt I'll send you a PM on WMDSM and let you know the cost per side for the upper if you're interested, it's obvious that there aren't that many out there anymore and getting them is based on a first come first serve basis

Taking those off completely hurts the lines of the car.

I plan on going to the Mitsubishi dealership on Monday, to see if I can order a pair before they run out.

I just got a set for both sides. I didn't realize they were discontinued so glad I managed to get them. They didn't mention anything about that to me. So just take one more set off that list above.

Yep I just got in both upper and lower trim moldings too.
The list gets smaller!
