So I have read through some archives and came across one talking about 6/7 bolt motor AWD/FWD Transmission and flywheel etc…..

I am new at this and literally going through it all.
Car currently has no transmission, drive shaft, transfer case. Engine I have pulled out and getting items replaced (coolant leak) currently is a 6 bolt swap with 20spline. This tells me the clutch kit is from a 90s??? Or is there more??

My question is am I able to change out clutch kit with no issues and get 22/23 spline therefore get a 2G transmission to work, get transfer case based on the year of the transmission or again is there more?? TIA

I didn’t want to ask or follow up on old thread.
Car is 95 AWD MT GSX

You would need a 6-bolt AWD flywheel, which will have 106 teeth on the ring gear and will be stepped.

Clutch kits are 100% the same for all turbo DSMs with the manual transmission.

The 22 or 23 spline count refers to the number of teeth on the transmission’s output shaft going into and driving the transfer case. So the spline count there obviously must match or else the two will not go together.

If the transmission and transfer case have been used together before or are original to the car, they are probably fine. If it’s a new transmission or transfer case from another vehicle, that would be worth noting.
