2g Trans On 6 Bolt Motor???

My swap is all done except the starter wont line up. I am using he 2g starter. Is that my problem? I have the 1g starter to. Can someone please help me out. I need to get my car back on the road today.

The parts you need for a 6bolt swap

1G CAS (91-92 Optical Effect, 93-94 Hall Effect)
1G Oil Cooler (90-92 MD 157670 6bolt water cooled oil cooler)
1G Water Pump
1G Oil Pump/Front Case
1G Timing Belt necessities
2G Engine mount (modified) use 2G engine mount trimmed, with 1G tensioner arm
1G Timing Belt Covers (modified)
1G 90-92 6-bolt block (with whatever internals)
1G 6-bolt Flywheel
2G Starter Mounting bracket
1G Water Pipe
1G lower radiator hose
1G Thermostat housing/ Water Neck
1G 6-bolt oil pan Balance shafts (remove them or keep em, its up to you, we take them out)
2G Alternator
2G Power Steering Pump
2G A/C 2G Belts

So I would assume that you are using the second gen starter bracket that you would use the 2g starter? Hope this helps

yup using the 2g starter bracket because the other one wouldnt come close to working...




any other idea's?

Auto's and Manuals have 2 different starters. I have an auto starter if you need one. Also are you running IPT's Kiggy kit?

Are you using the right flywheel?

AWD and FWD's have different flyhweels.. and different starters.

We were trying to use the awd flywheel. Didn't know they were differnt. thanks for the info. We have the tranny pulled out right now and about to put in a act2100 street clutch along and put the fwd flywheel back on. hope it works.
