It goes up all the way except for the last segment before the tip, it's killing my reception. I tried to pull it a little with no luck. I have no clue how the thing works. Any ideas on how to get it all the way out?

your antenna works like this. At the lower end of your antenna (internally) is a plastic strip with teeth, kinda looks like a camshaft belt, only smaller. Anyways, that plastic strip is attached to a gear inside the antenna motor. If the antenna is not coming up all the way it means that the plastic strip has slid down and is not in its proper place. There is only one option before having to replace the full mechanism, and that is pulling up on the antenna extension. You can try different approaches like when the antenna is at full mast or when you turn off your radio/car and the antenna starts going down. Be careful not to pull to much at one time, as to strong of a pull can cause the teeth on the plastic strip to be broken off, then you are SOL and have to replace the unit anyways. Pull at small intervals to get the last extension of the mast up. Get a friend to help you turn on/off the radio so you don't have to keep getting in and out of your car to work with the antenna.

Now if this does not work, the only other option is getting a full replacement, buying them at the junkyard or off ebay would probably be the cheapest :thumb: . They are easy to replace, anyone can do it who has some auto mechanical experience under their belt.

Let me know how it turns out or if you have any other questions, good luck bro! :thumb:

Well I opened the side of the spindle and everything shot out. Looking at it I kinda figured out how to put it back on, but when I turn it on and off it makes a horrible scrapping sound I have to assist in moving it up and down. I figured I just don't have enough tension on the plastic strip and it's skipping, but it's hard as hell to put everything back on without it looseing up.

Also I noticed that it will be all the way up and the motor keeps spinning and causes it to skip teeth. How does the motor know when to stop? After a well it stops but it is deffinately longer the it need to run to lower and raise the antenna.  Atleast I can push it up and down by hand now... :| :thumbdown

My antenna doesn't look exactly like that one. Is it clutched based? I'm just not getting the line tight enough so the gear can get a good grip on the line. I'm double check those links again though, maybe I missed something.

Ok fixed it. There was a pulley at the lower right that flew out and I didn't see it in the trunk at first. Put that baby back in and everything works great now. Full up and down movement, no grinding. Nothing question though. How do u put the jack back in the car? There appears to be a jack holder to the left of the spare, but it's to big and the jack just flops around in it. There is nothing to screw it down too.
