20g (Anyone Indentify this one?)

Hello guys, i got this 20g i am looking to purchase but i just want to make sure it is not an ebay one. I'd hate to make a dumb post like this but i would like to be on the safe side.

The number off the turbo is 78-11830 Someone grind off something that the turbo says but those number is all i could get. Here are some pics to help someone identify this one.

Theres only two turbos that it could be a hann super 16g or a 20g and it looks to be a 20g to me. But it looks to have a lot of miles the compressor is slightly chewed.

Why do you say that?
The hahn turbos use a different hotside, one that is much larger at 10cm2, this one looks like a standard MHI housing. It looks like a bastard 20g to me one with a TDO5H turbine wheel, but then I don't have any personal experience with the 20g.

It is a 20g but i would like to know if this is an ebay turbo. Is there any way to identify those ebay turbos?

That 20g above has some miles but it does not have any shaft play at all. Plus i am getting it for a decent price. Anything but the 14b

How so? Because there's a great pic of the turbine wheel posted that made you come to that conclusion?

It's definetly NOT an eBay turbo....China hasn't caught on to making authentic 20G's yet. As far as determining it's true size, we'd need a pic of the turbine wheel looking into the exhaust housing where the o2 housing would bolt on.

Um a bastard 20g is the one in a 16g style compressor housing. That is a BR or FP maybe a Turbochargers.com 20g. It most likely has a tdo5h turbine but it could be a tdo6 you can machine out the stock turbine housing to fit it.

Sweet, my worse fear was that it was a ebay turbo. Great to know it is not. How much would a rebuild for this turbo be? Just incase anything happends to it.

^^^^^^ He rebuilt my turbo, came back great anbd no shaft play, primed it but then found out oil feed was differnt for my turbo (frank 4) so it leaked a little. Now its been 2 weeks waiting for a stupid ####ing fitting.

But anyways, yeah he did good work! Turnaround time was awesome too.

sweet, great to hear good feedback from him, ill check the turbo once i get it and if it needs a rebuilt now i know who to contact.

Yeah that is def a tdo05h clipped turbine. My turbine wheel is clipped 15* and that might be more like 10* it does not look as molested.

So the 20g is ported and clipped, awesome.

I see that 20g's are sold on ebay, i even found a Evo3 20g and another auction that said t3 20g Crazy ass Chinese.
