2020 Northwoods Shelby Club Open Track Events (Road America/Autobahn/Blackhawk Farms)

Join the Northwoods Shelby Club at the following HPDE events:

-April 25 & 26 Road America: $250/single day, $425 both days.

-June 6 & 7 Autobahn Country Club: Saturday $230, running North Track 12:00pm-5:00 pm and full track from 5:30pm -8:30pm. Sunday $185, running South Track. $375/both days.

-July 2-5 Road America: Thursday 7/2 is a true open track day run as much as you want, $425, stipulations apply. Friday, Saturday, Sunday: $275/single day, $485/two days, $685/three days.

-August 22 & 23 Blackhawk Farms: $195/single day, $340/both days.

Those would be some fun tracks - wish I had the opportunity to make it out to those ones. Who here has driven Road America or Autobahn?

I have driven both.
Autobahn is in my backyard, and a nice track.
Road America is by far my favorite *relatively* close road course.
Very fast technical track. 4 miles long road course with elevation changes & 2 long straightaways it is an intense drive.

What sort of safety/tech inspection is required?

I have driven both.
Autobahn is in my backyard, and a nice track.
Road America is by far my favorite *relatively* close road course.
Very fast technical track. 4 miles long road course with elevation changes & 2 long straightaways it is an intense drive.

When I see in-car videos from Road America I always think of that old Cruis'n USA arcade game, with all the long straights and slight bends and then all of the sudden, a 90 degree turn. Top speed most of the time.

Naa.... you'd be surprised. The right vehicle prep and most cars do fine.

There is a lot of WOT. And hard braking.
Coming downhill into turn 5 is big fun.
Many carry the highest speed into turn 5.

5 is a 90 degree left hander at the bottom of a hill.
Turns 7/8 are super quick also going downhill as well.
It is definitely a must drive track for those who HPDE/road race..

I need to go to the track out on your coast...

That has to be just as of intense of a track.

Laguna and Sonoma are legendary. Thunderhill is also great. Buttonwillow doesn't have anywhere near the elevation changes of those ones but it's still fun too.
