I just found a 91 Eagle Talon TSI for only 200 buck. omfg!! only thing wrong with it is the front bumber and left and right fenders need to be replaced. i'm just debating should i buy it cuz i already have a 96 esi. what do you guys/girls think? :D

well if your sure that those are the only things wrong with it, then go for it. if it does have more problems than you expected then part it out. you could make a lot off of that.

You even have to think twice about buying that :toobad: I would have went to the bank as soon as I saw it and got the money, I would offer the guy less than 200$ first because obviously he doesnt know what he has and wants to just get rid of it or something. But to me it sounds like the engine is blown and they don't wanna mess with it. Buy it and send me the turbo :sneaky:

Yeah dude, get it. For only $200.... A complete turbo DSM will not be found for less.
Speaking of good 1G deals.... I just found a 91 Talon TSI AWD like 2 days ago. Offered the guy $300. I should be picking it up this weekend. It just needs an ECU. Body is in decent shape, interior and motor bay are complete. It'll be a fun little budget project. I plan to gut it, flat black it, and push that 14b to it's limits. :thumb:

not bad at all.. i would get it... i got my GS-T 98 for 1,000 and nothing wrong with it, 71,000 miles, well rebuilt title but hey wen i got it, the car looked really good. drove ok needed a tune-up. evo red w/ black leather interior :rocks: ..

:dsm:

I bought mine for $250 as well. It was from a towyard and no one knew what was wrong with it. I bought it ASAP and found that the timing belt was shredded so I'm still in the process of finish up a head/timing belt job. Open the top cover for the timing belt and make sure its not shredded and check the oil to see if there's any small metal bits mixed in the oil. My $250 project is turning into a much more costly project but I'm having a good time (for the most part) in putting it together. Good luck...I say get it, I would.

I'm getting it this weekend. Saturday to be exact. LOL it runs just fine. the lady just wants to get rid of it. LOL, i was wondering if i could convert my 96 esi. to Tsi using the motor and tranny from the 91? if not then I'm gonna just restore the body to the tsi and let my g/f use the esi. LOL

Where did you find this car?

in daytona beach while i was heading out from the shop my esi is in. she was at a car lot lookin for a car. when i saw it sittin outside i thought it belonged to the lot so i asked the dealer if he was selling it and the lady said it was her car and she'd sell it to me for 200. i told her she just sold herself a car. i'm getting a AS-IS contract and some other paper work together now.

haha, i bought 2 turbo dsms for $240. one was a 90 FWD Turbo Laser that i parted out for about $500 and the other was a 90 AWD Talon that i sold for $750 to some guy w/ no title.

No you cant put the 4g63 motor in your esi. Unless you want to rewire everything and spend big $$$. I say get that car. Your practicly stealing that car for 200$, and like everyone else said. if it has problems other than the appearance part it out, you could get more than 200 bucks just from the turbo... But once you get it, keep us updated. :thumb:
